Private Donator's Thread

Post by HappyHugs »

Hey there--

My suggestion for Double M Herbals is to create a private donator's thread (or section/whatever it is called)--

--where those who have donated a certain amount such as $100+ to help fund costs associated with running the site and helping the administrator have funds for time spent overseeing the site:

For those users to have a private thread that only they can go into and can make threads in and comment on:

These threads posted in the Private Donator's Section are collective thoughts and efforts and posts of things like how to improve the community, the "pulse" of the community, how to help new users settle into the community and other selfless topics and posts like that

This is because users who are donating large amounts of money for simple goodwill of the site, are usually interested in helping and will be more than willing to chime in to other donators to create things like guides for the site and other helpful stuff that the administrator can use, or not, to help continue and grow Double M Herbals

That's just my suggestion and what I thought of

- Mike :)

Or have a fund for shipping if we had a random acts of kratom kindness section. Most kratom heads have 10× the amount they need but early on I was always running out. Did anyone have experience on that subreddit? Was it mostly scammers or genuine? Seems like a beautiful idea either way as we ALL have batches that don't hit well that got rave reviews or just weren't a good choice or whatever, I've given away a shit ton of kratom and gotten a shit ton back all for no/ridiculously little money. We are a giving community and damn nice as a community (and some of us are rather dapper as well, I might say! ;) ) let's help out those beginner types just trying to jump off of this or that. Or no?

Or a "pay it forward" thread. We're all sitting on mounds of leaf we'll never use so why not put it to good use and give it to someone less fortunate.

I was going through/inventory-ing mine yesterday and man do I have an obscene and obsessive-compulsive amount and that's not even rotation stuff at present That's the second string stuff. There's plenty of send off to those less fortunate if the need arose.

I like this idea. there are downsides; it would be hard to tell who actually "needs" it. I guess it would be on the honor system, but there would be people who abuse the system. although if there is someone willing to try to scam for a bag, they probably need it, just based on that alone.

I think the goodness of the idea outweighs the possibility of misuse. and maybe most people wouldn't really care if they "needed" it or not, it's just a little kratom. maybe the person in need would have to contribute something in the way of postage?

I had times where I either got close to, or ran out of kratom in the earlier days. I was too self conscious to admit it and didn't want to be labeled an e-beggar. but this would be a great way of helping the newer or at least poorer users able to keep up, because some people truly need it for different reasons. it would suck if an ex addict or someone in severe pain ran out of kratom and turned to something else as a result.

I wasn't aware of that subreddit. i wonder how they ran that system, and what they think of it now. they would be good people to talk to about the best way to run it.

I realize that this likely won't happen, just wanted to share a few thoughts.

A lot of them (from that sub) are here, or at least that's what I assumed, but no one has added their thoughts, so maybe not.
I had a scammy experience with it here, but even despite this, I still think it's a good.idea. Totally agree that "scamming kratom" would be difficult. If you're doing that, you need it by default. One time someone stole a wheelbarrow off of my truck in the middle of the night and my boss was mad, so I said "they wanna do some work, how can you win stealing a wheelbarrow if you don't have any work." He kinda saw what I was talking about I think. Drug dealers aren't trading wheelbarrows for crack ...or....ARE THEY??
I don't know, I'm sick of hate and distrust and general venom and the only way to fix it is from the inside out. There are lots of times I almost gave in because I was running out. That SUCKED! No need for that. Just something to consider at any rate but I still have a few packages I have to mail, one for months. I'm terrible about that.

EVOL huh? I haven't heard that album in a while. I'm cleaning at 3am that's as good a choice as any. Thanks!

Lots of people don't know about this single. Pretty wild.

Sonic youth could have done better I think but Beck is on point in my opinion.

oh that's awesome you like them. I'm really into sonic youth, I've listened to all their albums, and they have quite a few. EVOL is my favorite album of theirs. the production of it is so dark, even mysterious. it was also one of the first noise rock albums I got into, so it's nostalgic.

I prefer their 80s stuff (Sister, Daydream Nation) to their later work, although they released Murray Street in the early 2000s, and that one is insanely good. they're pretty consistent in any case.

Confusion is Sex and Sonic Death are the first ones we heard way back, I loved them immediately. Confusion is Next is one of my favorite tunes and in my younger days did an acoustic cover that was pretty close to the actual song. Playing that fast and hard on an acoustic.usually broke a string or.two, which is why I saved it for last. Haha! I didn't play often but when I did, it was tunes of mine that I actually liked and other people's that I could relate to. I just listened to this again and it's as relevant as ever. Where did these characters come from? Check out Sonic Death too, the "live album" from the Confusion is Sex tour. Hahahaha! But different. It sounds not-human. Like the next band on at the Star Wars Cantina or something.

This early stuff even THEY never caught up to.

Sonic Death :

If you listen to this (whomever) don't expect accessible. Expect some wild shit you've never heard before. And this was...I wanna say 83? Just checked, 84. I was 10 when this came out. My first band, Moth, was a Sonic Death clone band. I mean, as if....hahaha! I have always been a lover of the off the beaten path stuff.

yeah I've seen some vids of their live shows around 1985, it looked like chaos. Thurston had this giant oversized megaphone/cone thing that he's yelling through...I wonder how they took that thing on the road. those early live shows are a totally separate thing from their recorded work. I like their early stuff too, I dreamed I dream off their first ep is a certified hood classic (it was very surprising hearing this on a sopranos episode of all places). they were really able to successfully evolve as a band throughout their entire long career.

which reminds me....i'm a big fan of the new york no wave scene...DNA, theoretical girls, rhys chatham, teenage jesus, and a bunch of others. the Brian Eno-produced no new york compilation is a perfect record.

I've heard sonic death but it's been a long time, so I'm going to check it out again, thanks.
