New swapsell forum .... possibly

Hey ladies and gents,

I have been working on a forum similar to the form that this forum uses, for a new swapsell. I just can't stand the MeWe chat for trading and I do miss the old forum (but not reddit, lol!). I'd like to see what the interest would be for this. It's done and it's fairly simplistic. As I get bored, I'm adding new things and tonight I just figured out how to add flair - no more referring to reddit.

Please let me know what you think. If you don't want to comment, a +1 or -1 is good enough for me. Thanks for reading!

I'd definitely get behind that. I love the people on MeWe -- and miss them! -- but that format is SO irritating. I can only be on MeWe for a half hour or so before I start getting incredibly frustrated because nothing stands still and I'm not seeing anything new besides chat.

Have you talked with Domface and the rest? I ask because it's his flair system and records that give it legitimacy, in the same way you and Jung vetting Mitragenerosity did there. If you don't want to talk about those particulars that's cool, but for me that would actually give it +2. You can start something new with the same system, but the traders would be obliged to start all over again building legitimacy and might not want to.

I have spoken to Dom about it, but unfortunately, communications have been spotty. He gave me his number, but I'm very picky about who I give my number to. There's just too many people that want an app, one of the permissions is "view contacts", and the next thing you know, I'm getting a new batch of spam. I'm pretty sure that I'm the only one in the world that checks the app requirements, lol.

I came up with a forum tool to be able to assign flair directly from the forum. There will be no need to visit the nine planes of hell (reddit). As for the rest, I'm sure they didn't ask Dom when they took it over, you know? I think I'm going to start posting the link tomorrow. The worst thing that could happen is, it wouldn't catch on, right?

Nah, I check app permissions as well, and as a consequence run pretty light compared to most folks. I also have a cheap ass Tracfone with a number I was obliged to maintain when I moved from one state to another a few years ago, but now I keep it on silent and use it for exactly this kind of communication, heh. People can spam it all they want, but unless there's a voicemail I don't even pick it up.

It's not like you need Dom's permission, but if he's cool with it, all the better. Sure, try it! We can't have it here because we want the board as a whole to stay legal even if kratom ends up banned, but I'm ALL in favor of seeing another legit swapsell, so if you're willing to do the work and take the risks you have my thanks.

One thing about r/swapsell that many people may not have realized is that it was GREAT for spotting trends for specific batches, for many one or two line mini-reviews, finding out what leaf people really dig the most (because it was always highly requested, like Red Banjar), ditto for vendors... I never actually did a trade on r/swapsell, but damn if I didn't find it almost as informative -- consistently so -- as the Double M. So yeah! Do it!
