Sometimes you wanna have kava, but your stomach says 'no way'

I don't really understand my own aversion to kava, mostly it is a mild taste, a type of watery grog. But man, my stomach churns sometimes just thinking, not of the muddy taste, which isn't so bad, but there's an underlying 'bleh' barfiness to it.

Kava really has great effects; I am only just starting to look into it, there are a number of kavalactones which determine the effects, and there is tremendous variation and combinations.

Most of my experiences have been with instant, both the micronized and the dehydrated juice. Would love to find some locally; being that awa (kava in Hawaiian) is a part of Hawaiian culture, there's gotta be some fresh around here; haven't heard of a currently open kava bar for a long time.
