Review: Green Thai Crushed Leaf from WotAnAtti2d

Post by heme2016 »

I picked up one of the three-strain crushed leaf samplers from WotAnAtti2d, was impressed with the only strain I've tried so far, so thought a review might be in order.

Some preliminaries:

ORDERING:
Handled efficiently and professionally. Very prompt shipping and very good communication.

PACKAGING:
Quite nice. The leaf is packed in heavy-gauge aluminum zip-lock vacuum sealed bags, then overpacked in a mylar bag, then put in another(!) mylar bag for shipment. This package would survive anything short of being run over by a truck.

The Green Thai leaf itself:
I was having a fairly painful day - combination of cervical disc issues and my RA deciding to pick on my shoulder joints. So I brewed up 3.5 grams of the leaf to make a cup of tea. (Bit of an aside here - I make "quick and dirty" tea, because I'm lazy. I just add boiling water and 3-4 drops of lemon juice to the crushed leaf, let it steep for 20 minutes, and filter through a coffee cone filter. Not as efficient as the more elaborate ways of making tea, but works ok if you use a bit more leaf.)

I was startled by the taste of the tea - or rather, the relative lack of it. Kratom tea is usually (to me) super-nasty and disgusting. The taste of the tea from this Green Thai, in contrast, was only mildly revolting.

The tea provided VERY good pain relief, that lasted at least 5-6 hours. I'd rate it as at least as good as a similar dose of any powdered leaf I've tried.

Oddly, for a green, I'd say it was mildly relaxing. Not outright sedating, but a bit on the slower side of the spectrum. Could be useful as a late-afternoon/early evening leaf.

If you use kratom for pain relief, and you are willing to make tea, I strongly suggest giving WotAnAtti2d's Green Thai a try.

Thank you heme, for the colorful review! The funny thing is that I got the second mylar bag as my first pick of mailers. The description said it was 2.5 mm thick and I think someone can't measure. But then I noticed how nicely the first bags fit into them and I figured it would be a great "keep it all together" bag. And yes, I'd love to see one of the USPS sorters get one of those babies "stuck". ;)
