Mitragaia's Reds As of Late

With the exception of maybe one bad batch, I have always liked gaia ethnobotanical, now Mitragaia's red kratom. (I'm mostly a red guy, I like whites two.) Take two big doses of red a day. I'm not trying to throw them under the bus but I just have to say that the last few red batches I've got have been absolute shit. I got some red bali about a week and a half ago, and it was some of the worst kratom I've ever had. It was not merely ineffective, it felt like the kratom contained more antagonists then agonists, It had the opposite effect on me from most reds. High anxiety, very dysphoric, strange body feelings. Anyway I couldn't just keep taking this kratom, so I ordered some red dragon. I had just gotten a batch of red dragon from them a few weeks ago so I was hoping it would be the same, but It clearly wasn't. Even taking well below my normal dose, this kratom makes me slightly nauseous, gives absolutely no euphoria, and makes me ridiculously tired, not a relaxed, chill, tired but still functioning that most decent reds give, but like falling asleep standing up tired. I know everyone reacts differently to kratom, but I have been taking kratom for years and I know the difference between strains I just don't care for and absolutely shit kratom. My best guess is that these kratoms are high in antagonists. I've noticed that when I mix it up and drink it, a white sheen comes to the top despite it being red. (although both strains were slightly lighter than normal red kratom, which lots of good reds are, just thought I'd mention it) In my experience, a white sheen is never a good sign with reds. I really like gaia, and normally have good experiences with them, and I know that their stuff is cheap so I do not expect the strongest of the strong, but these reds are not just weak, I genuinely feel there is something wrong with them. Like I said, my best guess based on the limited amount of knowledge I have on the actual science of kratom is that their supplier sold them a bunch of reds that were poorly grown and high in antagonists. Once again, I like gaia, not just trying to take a big shit on them, but I just want to throw this out there and I'm wondering if anyone else has been having similar experiences.

Different name. Different packaging. Different website. Same ol' Gaia. Such a shame. They were my favorite vendor 2 years ago. Were! Thanks for posting this update. I noticed a couple weeks ago that they repackaged themselves and was going to possibly give them a try again at some point. I'm glad I stayed away. And will continue to do so. What happened Dan? You were once very reputable and respected.

One of my first online vendors, right about 2 years ago! Over the past 2 years, BIG changes in kratom.. I think Gaia just worked out a Business Plan, to take advantage of the market - Exploding Demand - and maximize Profit. That's in a nutshell.. They are profiteers. Extract the MOST money out of people, at the lowest possible investment!

I followed Gaia on facebook awhile back, and nothing came to my timeline for quite awhile because of the drama. But he reintroduced his site and new brand name/logo, etc.

I went through the site, and fished around a bit, and before I knew it, everything on "Mitragaia" "kratom guide" was literally stolen word for word from Kats Botanicals. Some strain names, the layout of the site, and a shit ton of Kats kratom guide posts. Shameful to plagiarize another vendors work.

I was using gaia too,,couple of years ago? After I switched from head shop kratom, them and canopy,,I quit them after that tainted batch scare,,I got sick after dosing once,, so I disposed of it,, they've changed name,but apparently not their product, ,I had a gut feeling that this vendor didn't give a shit about their customers well being,,,Trust your Vendor, ,,a few are genuinely concerned about their customers well being,,besides profit,, then there's weirdo vendors putting god knows what in the dirt they pass off as kratom,,,it's those weirdos that get people sick and give kratom a bad rep,,,

They were also my goto quite a few months but about 2 months ago everything I had ordered from them turned out to be trash. Got sick from all three strains ordered. It was right when they swapped to their new batches. Damn shame.

I've used kratom for close to 10 years and I tried Gaia once.....................................................ONCE!


I've had leaf that didn't work for me the first time or two that I tried them, but they actually
proved to be effective strains on the third or fourth try, metabolism and all, I guess!
Received 4 or 5 strains from Gaia and they were all bunk no matter how many times I tried them.

edit: I normally don't bash a vendor due to the nature of the leaf, but I've made an exception in this case.
Of all my buys, I don't think I've ever received totally bunk leaf before Gaia!

I wonder, with the fda and big pharma trying to criminalize kratom, ,if they don't set up shit vending sites,purposely selling dirt to get people sick,,so they can try to build a stronger case in their attempts to ban K? Far fetched,,,but who knows? How do places like this stay in business?? They throw a bit of good product in here and there,,? Arggggg ,having cheap product is one thing,,but selling products that keep making people sick, not just once,but over and over again? Shame on them,

Hey, guys, I hoped this gets bumped back to the top. I just want to give credit where credit is due and say that the last two red strains I got from Gaia have been very good again. Must be the new batch. I find it interesting that a lot of people say that the stuff they got from Gaia has always been bunk. I've been ordering from them for a while. The reds I get are almost always good. Almost never exceptionally strong like Purkratom or other stuff, but with the exception of a few of the strains I mentioned in my post, it has worked well for me. I'd say probably an 85% good rate. I should note though that I only ever buy reds, and that the only strains I ever get are Bali, Maeng Da, and Dragon. Maybe there green and white and lesser-known strains are shit? Also, I take in high doses, normally somewhere around 8 grams at a time, so maybe for those who take lower doses it's just not strong enough to cut it.

My friend, you take 8 grams of any kratom and you're gonna feel good. Unless it's very potent, in which case you you'll feel wobbly.. in which case you take half and feel good.

That said I've had LOTS of good kratom from Gaia as recent as a few months ago. Even had a really good customer service experience where I got a half price kilo after getting some stuff that wasn't great and complaining (SOME other vendors would say.. "did you open it? get fucked ")..

however the issue is that the people involved with Gaia are sleaze-bags. lots of info on that subject that I don't feel like rehashing.

cheaper and better product available through BB, RVA, canopy, lots of others.

but, main point is.. buy wherever the fuck you want to. but ppl are gonna hate on Gaia and from my perspective, it's for good reason.

#stonerjunky.... I understand the complaints about Gaia & have my own gripes with them, but I bought 5 kilos of their Red Bali last spring & it is fantastic. I'd previously said I'd never buy from them again, but tried a sample & was impressed. This strain is bright yellow - kinda strange for kratom. It's a favorite of my sons. I believe the cost was around $90 per kilo. I'd never pay $120 a k even though they keep sending me emails telling me it's a steal.
