Reddit kratom sub is censoring posts

I notice now that whenever I post on /r/kratom, it looks like it goes through, but is hidden in the public feed and the stats show it's not getting any views. Never get any comments either, so it's obviously blocked, but I never received a message indicating I was banned AND also no spam filter messages. I never posted anything inflammatory or "bad" there at all. I suspect it's because I've been having a lot of side effects recently and wasn't saying positive stuff about kratom. I do still love it though and even if I quit, I know it will be a part of my life in the future given that it helped so much with my IBS. Probably just need to use much less.

Maybe you're shadowbanned? As far as I know, if you're banned from a subreddit, you will ALWAYS get a notification. But not if Reddit admin shadowbans you and if they have, it's for good reason.

I see posts come through our sub from shadowbanned people. They're unaware it's happened, and they're posting away. It easy for mods to pick out because the username has a strike through it.

This is not one of the subreddits I moderate, but it will give you a little information on shadowbanning.

Yeah, it might be that. If it is, then it's probably one of two things: Me posting in the conspiracy sub or when I posted about the new NIH gov kratom study saying that it's not a good thing.
I'm respectful though and don't start flamewars.

And if it is a shadowban, it doesn't appear to be site-wide, it's only /r/kratom and /r/vendorsofkratom

there's a sub that you can go to specifically to ask a mod if you're shadow banned. r/shadowban
if you're banned from a sub, it won't allow you to post or comment at all.

I've seen other people complain that they censor posts, so it must be a normal thing there. I unsubbed from it because 90% of all posts are asking the same questions over and over and over. no one bothers to use search. I can only see so many poop threads

On r/kratom - EVERYTHING is censored - BY DEFAULT. Yes. Every single Post, is blocked up front. They then cherry pick and APPROVE a few. . Around 9 of 10, never get posted...

You can CHECK this - and SEE what's posted / what's NOT posted - use REV Eddit.

Start with your Reddit URL == https://old.reddit.com/r/kratom/ - ( I still use "Old Reddit" lol.)

NOW, change the "old" to "www" ... and ADD "ve" in between "re" and "ddit" == https://www.reveddit.com/v/kratom/

WORKS for an entire SUB - and also works for a Thread, to see what's been deleted, and possibly recover some deletions.

It does seem to let me comment, but not post. I messaged a mod with a link to my most recent post that didn't go through. He responded saying it's cause I used the word "stimmy" to describe it. But I don't believe that's why my posts aren't going through cause I have many others that don't seem to contain ANYTHING wrong, but then again, who knows. Not to mention, in the past if a post of mine contained a restricted word, it would get flagged and I would get a notification bot telling me the problem. Now they just ghost me. It's all pretty insane IMO.

Reddit shows how centralization and top down control is a problem. I hope saidit takes off, but in the long run it might just be the same.

He's not giving you The Truth -- I'll say it again -- All New Posts are automatically Blocked... and 95% of them, STAY blocked.

That's "Censorship", of course... IF they SAID up front - "Nobody is allowed to Post Here", that would be CLOSER to The Truth... At least ??

yeah I do that too. Reddit search will return some results, but if you're looking for something very specific, google is necessary.

but it's not only that they don't try to search, they also apparently don't even scroll down. often you will see posts asking the same questions multiple times in the same day. I've been on the internet awhile, and before reddit got big and there was only bluelight or drugs-forum, there was message board etiquette. you would be expected to look around a bit first, and if you asked a stereotypical question, people would just say "utfse." r/kratom just attracts the laziest people, apparently.

There is another group, r/smallbatchkratom for ppl who have been banned or shadow banned from vendorsofkratom. I also know there is a vendorsofkratom2 sub out there.

I have never heard of this shadow ban stuff, but Reddit is not my strong suit. I think I just like gazing wistfully at the stash porn.
