Over 700 people unaccounted for. 350 more bodies identified.
Interesting fact: in a section of Lahaina, in a block of several city squares, one wood house remained. The owners were on vacation in Massachusetts.

Re: Maui fire update
My longtime music partner lives in Lahaina and has for twenty years on and off and he says it's insane. Everyone lost most everything EXCEPT pets. I mean, think about it, everyone lived in glorified screened-in porches. He tells me everyone he knows is accounted for mostly and most live in shelters of some kind or other. Sounds terrible for sure with no end in sight. I'm just.glad he and his wife are ok. Apparently, and I missed the whole week on FB, but they were missing for a week, right when I went to Facebook, he posted saying "J and i are alright!" and I was like..."alright? What?" Then I started checking into all of that.IndelibleDotInk wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2023 7:55 pm https://www.hawaiicommunityfoundation.org/maui-strong - any money donation will help! So will manpower.
