Does your dog bite weird stuff / how to stop your dog from chewing
My previous dog never chewed on anything she wasn't supposed to (aside from another dog's dry poop once or twice), and was otherwise perfectly well-mannered, and my new dog is pretty good, will immediately stop destroying stuff if she hears a 'ah ah' scolding or a 'drop it'. But for some reason she is attracted to a corner of painted wood molding at the bottom of the railing on the top of the stairs. She repeatedly goes back to it and noms it up. It's not really easily fixable, maybe a putty and artistic hand could do it; we just painted it white, and keep doing that and she keeps eating it. Anyone have experience with similar? My first dog Mei totally didn't do anything like this, the only thing she did was put my dad's slipper in the middle of the living room, unchewed. New dog Sihaya has violent storms of zoomies, careening around the house, capable of knocking us down. We were at the community park and I had her on leash and she saw another dog at the other end of the area, and she had an anxiety attack and ran in the direction of home, dragging me to the ground (I'm 200lbs and she's around 40lbs, medium sized). Still love her, though, she is a sweetie. She successfully protected our house from the Amazon man today, we were outside and he saw our Beware of Dog sign with instruction to put the box over the fence gate, he did that and she was alert, barked, and howled. I waved hello and he was cool with that. She just needs some confidence, which is growing day by day.

Spray it with something that tastes disgusting. Acidic, spicy, and bitter works well for dogs. They sell sprays specifically for this, but you can find recipes online if you'd rather make something yourself. Just look up anti-chew spray. Vinegar, chili flakes, and maybe some bitter melon juice will work well. Don't let her see you spraying it.

Re: Does your dog bite weird stuff / how to stop your dog from chewing / temu.com deals
Thanks, we got on it with the vinegar, and I haven't seen evidence of Sihaya eating it. She's doing great with her toys and the objects we give/present her to destroy like cardboard boxes we don't need anymore. I do wonder at the difference between her and Mei, who psychically knew what was for destruction and what was off limits.
If you have a dog and want cheap toys or accessories, temu.com has a buttload of deals. For my birthday, on the 31st of May, I'ma buy stuff for Sihaya, a water fountain and a leather collar with an engraved metal plate with her name and our phone number. Love temu, their return policy often lets you keep a cheaper item instead of sending it back, with more expensive items you may have to take pics and detail why the item doesn't' meet your needs.

I used to use vinegar when my rottie wouldn’t stop chewing on my furniture when she was a puppy. One day she escaped her crate and decided my entire kitchen needed remodeled while I was at work!
Funny now in retrospect, definitely wasn’t back then lol. She eventually grew up into amazing dog who was extremely friendly and well behaved. She passed in 2017 at 12 years old. But, yes vinegar definitely works. Also works if they keep trying to mark their territory indoors. Just spray some in the spots they like to use.

This is a little jump off topic, but Sihaya, is shy peeing and pooping. She's getting better at peeing, but she holds her poop to once a day and it's dark at night. I feel for her, but she's not in super uncomfortability, so I guess it's ok? Can't really expect Sihaya to have all the good/strange behavior as Mei.

You sound like a wonderful dog daddy and your baby will grow out of it. My female dog won't poop unless she goes up in tall grass so no one will see her. I live in the country so there are lots of tall grass. She is a lady just like your pup and needs her privacy to poop lol.

She's getting better, peeing at places outside our yard, pooping mainly in our yard with some exceptions. She gets scared going off the complex property and is damn strong and willing to show her reluctance going there. Slowly I am trying to get her to walk a little more. She is passive/avoidant/aggressive toward other dogs for the most part, we are working on that.
It didn't help that our neighbor left their gate open and when we were walking by, a huge american bully made a beeline for her from across the street; I deflected it with my leg and it bounced into the middle of the road where a car was driving and the dog got hit... car kept on driving and I hurried my pup home, then my parents went to investigate; neighbor lady said her kids must have left the door open and the dog was not injured... because I'm protective over my bebs Sihaya, I kinda feel the dog should have been hurt a little, teach it not to attack my dog and run around in the open... not nice, but man, my pup! Also have seen the same gate open again!!
Oh well. Man, I couldn't believe how fast that bully could charge, being so muscle bound. Sihaya is strong, though, and can be a fighter (50% american pitbull terrier, 25%ish Rhodesian Ridgeback, 18% greyhound, and the rest a mishmash of suspected American Staffordshire Terrier, border collie, German shepherd, and boxer. We did a DNA test.) I wish she had more greyhound, they are super chill, but she gets all her hyper athletic zoomie energy from the other breeds in her.
Sorry for your loss e_, after a few months they become family. I loved my previous dog Mei so much, it really surprised me. I got her to combat the blues, hardcore depression, and she just lifted my life to a whole new level, bless her soul.
