CBD and pain?

Post by beathappening »

So I haven't done too much research on the effects of CBD and pain but does anyone here have any anecdotal evidence on the effects of CBD working for pain? I have a bruised rib on or around my the front and back of my heart. It is something it's lasted for me for a few weeks that won't go away or even seem to cease, it is specially hurts when I wake up after sleeping and then when rolling over onto my side and getting up and there are other times where it's just worse than it is normally especially when I take a deep breath.....and kratom just doesn't seem to be cutting it and I was wondering if there was any other way of helping the problem without resorting to go to a doctor. Although I don't think it's bad enough where a doctor would be very helpful maybe on the level of tramadol like a weak painkiller but I don't even think it's bad enough for that l, it's just an inceessant....I don't know like I'd say a 5 or 6 (especially when I take a deep breath) on the pain scale. Any anecdotes or just plain thoughts would be helpful thank you.

until then I'm going to continue to wait it out because I don't think it's worth seeing a proper clinician. not trying to be a pussy about it but it's getting to the point where it's becoming quite bothersome. and and it even restricts my movement somewhat.

Thanks guys

Sorry to hear Beat. No experience with CBD but when Kratom doesn't cut it my next level is heat and Aleve. I highly recommend Thermacare heat pads. They have wraps and stick on types. Works wonders for me.

Honestly CBD has never done anything for me in regards to pain. Kratom and OTC painkillers are good in combination but you may want to mind physical techniques as well. Nobody likes putting freezing cold bags on their skin, but an ice pack wrapped in a thin towel for 15-20 mins and alternating with a heat pad does wonders - in my experience at least.

I don't know about ingesting it but I do know that full spectrum cannabis used topically works a lot better than just CBD topicals.

I've used CBD in combination with kratom and OTC ibuprifen/Tylenol several times over the last few years for a number of injuries quite effectively.

One example: A year and a half ago I broke my right humerus, chipped a piece of bone off my left knee cap, and fractured a couple of ribs when I tripped running down a flight of stairs. Ouuuuuch....I know what you mean by the ribs causing issues with sleep etc!

However I was able to manage the pain by adding the CBD and OTC meds and increasing my dose size of Kratom for a few weeks. Never had to take anything stronger even though they tried to give me prescriptions for pain meds. My past history has shown me that pain meds unfortunately start me down a road that scares me far worse than just dealing with the pain for a few weeks.

I found CBD to be very helpful even though all I had available at the time was isolate based. In my experience it was most effective sublingual rather than Vaped or in capsules. Broad spectrum is more effective and full spectrum is most effective but depending on where you live not all of those may be available.

Ribs take a long time to heal because as you're breathing thousands of times a day they're constantly getting moved. CBD is good for anxiety, pain, and has anti inflammatory activity. It's a more cumulative effect so for me it took a full day of dosing every 4-6 hours before I started to notice much effect.

Feel free to PM me if you want and I can share more of what my experience was and what I know about CBD. I still take it occasionally as I've found it to be a very useful tool to have in my tool kit.

It seemed to help with anxiety alot at first but after about 4 days I stopped getting barely any relief from it. As far as pain I don't think it did very well, pain wise you're 1000% Better off with Kratom

Honestly everytime I've tried cbd whether is be in flower form or some kind of extract is never seems to do much for me at all. No noticeable effects of any kind and really just underwhelming. I don't know maybe the stuffs just not for me.
