An independent analysis of the Russian news media found that RT, the Kremlin-backed news agency, mentioned Ms. Gabbard frequently for a candidate polling in single digits, according to data collected by the Alliance for Securing Democracy, a group that seeks to track and expose efforts by authoritarian regimes to undermine democratic elections
Other people that support Gabbard, besides Putin and Russian bots:

-David Duke, white nationalist leader
-Steve Bannon, President Trump’s former chief strategist
-Richard B. Spencer, white nationalist leader
-Ron Paul
-Mike Cernovich, far right conspiracy theorist, says she's very "Trumpian"
-Franklin Graham (Billy's son)
-anti-Semites on 4chan

And? People on twitter and message boards and white nationalist can like whoever they want. That does not represent the person.

Care to elaborate on how any of this means she is a traitor? Which she would be if she were a foreign agent working on behalf of Russia or any other country. How do any of those people or groups you mentioned mean Tulsi Gabbard is a foreign agent? Now that doesn't mean it is not possible, but again, is she under investigation by anyone? Is the military or the government claiming she is a foreign agent? She is still, as I mention again, an active member of the Military and Congress. That is a fact, that is real. Anything else is just opinions and rumors and speculation, until proven otherwise.

What, may I respectfully ask, do certain people/groups supporting a person have to do with that person? Can a Candidate choose who supports them or how others report on them? Is it wrong or bad if Putin or any other foreign leaders have a favorable view of her? How does Tulsi Gabbard influence who does or does not support her? Considering the intelligence community and her own military that she serves and Congress whom she represents supports her, does that not provide the evidence that she is not a "Russian agent"? She has been deployed twice to fight for this country, so her wanting to take a more diplomatic approach instead of dropping bombs is influenced by her service.

I just want to ask, what is the evidence you "heard" that supports she is a Russian agent? Who supports her does not equal foreign agent or traitor... I am not trying to pick an argument and I hope my tone comes across as civil, but Dictators and extremist oppressive regimes supported Obama, Bush, Clinton, etc... Obama had support of Saudi Arabia, and made deals with them while they are one of the most oppressive regimes in the world, does that determine how Obama is viewed and portrayed? Was Obama a puppet for allowing countries like Saudi Arabia get away with human right violations?

Did any of the points I made in my long post make sense or at least provide a different view of why many feel it is absurd, even insulting, to suggest Gabbard is working for a foreign government which again would make her a traitor?

Anyway, Kobe Bryant and his 13 year old daughter just died a few hours ago and he was one of my favorite athletes ever, and I've never had an athlete's death make me so sad so talking about this topic isn't important to me or on my mind right now. I'm gonna go remember Kobe Bryant. Rip Kobe! And his daughter Gianna. This is so tragic

Yes, definitely sad to hear. The worst scenario you could imagine, at least she was with her dad in those harrowing moments.

I appreciate your comments re Tulsi. I don't have an agenda either way. She seems like an honorable person, carries herself with dignity and speaks truth to power. I know some things about her, some things I don't. Your argument in defense of her character, very clear, well thought out and presented (I actually admire people who take time to get their point across, along with whatever supporting evidence, anecdotes. And being honest about where you stand in the matter. You come across as genuine. I see static, toxicity, passive aggressiveness from another member here, that frankly isn't worth responding to.) Two words: security clearance. I'm quite impressed by your argument, logic. What it also comes down to for me (and I said, I don't really have much faith in our government, gov in general, the fundamentals, the Constitution, Bill of Rights, absolutely! the puppets and oligarchs who have since corrupted and seized it for their own agendas and purposes not as much.) is this.. Why does Hillary (and our passionate friend here) working so hard to slander Tulsi Gabbard? To ruin and tarnish her image, her honor, her character? There must be something about her they don't want us to learn. She must be talking about something that hits close to home for these people (I get Hillary, but what stake does beathappening have in it really? Why does he care so much about her, obsess about her and Russia? That appears silly to me).

Classic radical (Alinksy, Bolshevik) methods, tactics to shut down the argument, eliminate as a threat their opponents (the trouble is, it works! Esp with people's attention spans these days and being lazy to read more than a paragraph.) It is just so silly already. We shouldn't even need politicians in this day and age! Should be an open source government, where everyone is assigned an impenetrable, unhackable onion (deep net or similar) home page account to which people can log in, plug in and vote on a variety of matters, concerns, bills, whatever business the politicians and bureaucrats (I get it, big gov is a jobs program, as is the military industrial complex (part of corporate welfare), whether we like it or not, a good portion of our economy is linked to war, warfare, weapons industry, the defense contractors, corps, financial powers all benefit at the expense of not only the American people and our ailing infrastructure, but innocent people around the world who happen to be in the way of the Hegemon's pursuit of maintaining its existence (there is a very ugly side to what goes into maintaining this artificial lifestyle we all enjoy, this isn't new to anybody).

Should be building up, improving our healthcare system. We should have far more hospitals, clinics, far more updated, integrated (yet non-centralized in some instances, so as to survive in event of an entire region, such as Wuhan and surrounding areas, being overwhelmed and locked down) vs spending trillions on basically nothing every year and we are more vulnerable than ever to real threats facing us, such as this virus (to begin with). Too worried about ensuring they have the gravy flowing, maintain their lifestyles, their jobs. If peace were to break out and our troops came home, the economy would crash, Dollars would come rushing back home (military and the Federal Reserve, other global institutions such as BIS, City of London, recycle, launder money in the international settlement system, keep it liquid, circulating. So many plates in the air at any one time!) we'd see hyperinflation (or possibly its opposite, deflation, just don't know how it will play out.

People who study and follow economics, what's really going on with financial markets, etc say the next crash will be far worse than 2008 (and from some of the PTB perspective, they would be quite happy if such a crash were to transpire while Trump is in office, let him and the Republicans take the fall, so I suspect they'll have him secure another term). As they threw everything at that "crisis", papered it over to where they now have fewer options, ammo, weapons at their avail to counter whatever significant crash (Deutsche Bank is on shaky grounds since a while now) which may be heading our way. Coupled with the endless sanctions on countries, even our allies! thus forcing countries, such as Russia and China, to de-dollarize and thus become more independent, insulated from any big global financial crashes. In the long term dealing a fatal blow to the US Dollar as less people, countries use it for trade, int'l settlement of debts, trade.

They have to understand the math involved. Is it their (US and associated int'l mostly Western ruling class) intention to deliberately crash the Dollar and then usher in some kind of global currency? That's what several conspiracy theories speak to and isn't far fetched, considering how much wool they've already pulled over our heads the last 50-100 years alone! That people believe everything is hunky dory, just get Hillary (they'll be happy with Pence, I sure won't!) in there and everything will be great! How she doesn't fill you with terror is worrying (whoever still supports her, or believes she is anything but a seasoned psychopath, who is quickly approaching her expiration date, thankfully! but it is the system that is the biggest issue, not the psychos it produces, sustains and uses to further itself, imo.)

Nobody wants to speak to these issues as they are unpleasant. Even if just what Tulsi speaks to about the horrors of war and how if we can avoid it at all costs (even an experienced MMA or martial artist, they too seek to avoid fighting if at all possible, as they understand what they are capable of). Anyone who has been in a war never wants to see their brothers or sisters go experience it. They don't talk it up or glorify it whatsoever. Tulsi might not have seen actual combat, but she has treated hundreds of soldiers and others who were injured in it, at least one time or for some wasn't their first rodeo, so to speak.)

I believe America deserves someone like her who understands the true costs of war and also who will exercise diplomacy as much as is humanly possible before even thinking about the question of warfare! Some people still need time to mature, their brains are still growing. Imo, people shouldn't be allowed to vote until at least 21, if not 24 (or certain criteria, having children, married, their own business or other). This will help preserve what's left of our republic.

Just telling you what I heard, and who else is on yours and Tulsi's side. Simply observations and facts. nothing wrong with facts. Not sure why people are getting so wound up and writing dissertations, or why a dissenting view is considered toxic. I didn't realize she had such a fervent fanbase, it's kind of surprising for such an uninfluential and soon to be obscure figure. I doubt anyone's going to remember her in five years. A strange hill to die on.

Tulsi may not be a Russian asset, but she sure talks like one.

Tulsi may not be a Russian asset, but she sure talks like one.

Who'd you hear it from? Bernie Sanders is on Tulsi's side regarding this baseless claim she is a Russian agent of some kind (one of the links I posted in my first comment has his remarks on the matter). The United States military is on her side as she still holds the rank of Major. Congress is still on her side as she still is a sitting member of Congress. Is that not evidence against the idea Gabbard is a Russian agent? Am I a Russian asset for simply having the same views on many issues as Gabbard, and for defending her against such claims? I personally do not like when anything is claimed as fact without evidence to prove the claim or at least support it, regardless of the nature of what the claim is about. I'm sure there are others who feel the same. Misinformation is a cancer to progress.

I'm sorry, but "hearing" something does not mean it is a fact, nor is that observations. A fact would be she serves in Congress, represents Hawaii, did two tours in the Military, is running for President. A rumor, gossip, internet chatter, opinions and things you "hear" that claim Gabbard is in any way a Russian agent is a baseless claim without evidence, the opposite of a fact which is something that is or can be proven and verified. There is nothing wrong with facts, you are right. Don't we all in the Kratom community wish the FDA and DEA relied on facts and did not spread misinformation? Kratom is under threat to be banned in states in part because of these false claims that Kratom has killed a bunch of people (when it is obvious it did not) and all the other misinformation and lies. It is pretty infuriating when false allegations are made and presented as facts about Kratom, I'm sure we'd all agree on that. Making a claim and calling that claim a fact without proof is one of the ways misinformation is being used against Kratom and how some States are justifying trying to make it illegal. And it is wrong. Is it not wrong to do so with Tulsi Gabbard? I mean, imagine being in her shoes, and dedicating your adult life to service of America and to be called a traitor/foreign agent because Gabbard has dissenting views/opinions. It is kind of ironic you mention that however, because Gabbard's own opinions and views are considered dissenting among Democrats because they "are at variance with those commonly or officially held" which is meaning of the word dissenting.

A dissenting view is not toxic, but misinformation sure can be, as seen in the threats facing Kratom legality. It does not matter if Gabbard is remembered in 5 years or not, because the issue isn't her fanbase or her influence. The issue is the very real problem of propaganda and misinformation

I do not mean any disrespect or offense and I am not making any judgments. We all have our beliefs and views and opinions. Nothing wrong with not agreeing, or agree to disagree. I just happen to write a lot when discussing something I am passionate about LOL (I write in my spare time and hope to publish novels in the future, so that may explain the long comments I make)

Peace -- Mike

Far right viewpoints? So now you are making assumptions on my views. Seriously, where'd you get that from? Because I agree with an anti-war stance from one specific candidate or because I like a candidate who happens to get support from certain people/groups that I, nor that candidate, have control over? Should I choose to support a candidate based on who supports that candidate, not on that candidates ideas and beliefs and actions?

I am, if anything, far far left. But I actually really dislike labels and tend not to put myself in a box. I was a Sanders supporter in 2016 and he is my preferred candidate this election cycle (I thought I made that clear in my comments that I was an independent vote that supported Sanders, Yang and Gabbard). I guess supporting Sanders, Yang and Gabbard means I have far right viewpoints  . From all the questions I asked or points I brought up, that is your conclusion?

It's cool if you don't want to answer any of the questions or or respond to the points I made. I tend to stay away from debates where the debate is one sided though. You are of course welcome to ignore discussion, it is a free country

Mods, please lock this thread, as it seems no one else is engaging. I thought there would be a debate with civil discourse and substance. But apparently I have far right viewpoints which is news to me

Tulsi earns three Pinnochios
"If the Russian propaganda machine, both their state media and their bot and troll operations, is backing a candidate aligned with their interests, that is just a reality, it is not speculation.”

Turns out Hilary Clinton said the Republicans are grooming Tulsi

Why do you needs mods to come in and lock the thread? Serious question. If you have nothing more to add, you don't need to make a post. I'm just including another widely respected source.

My bad, MikeE. For both our (mental) well-being it is best to just disengage with this adolescent. It is clear he is not wishing to engage in any sincere discussion or debate and only wishes to troll us. Seems he lives for this. It is a form of abuse, aggression and isn't cool to bring that crap here like over at reddit or elsewhere.

Anyway. I've been looking for a job the past month (people like that Tim Pool, and Trump, his people, that the economy is doing great. I sure don't see it!) Going to try a temp agency, even though I've been trying to avoid them as much as possible. I'm well qualified, former machine operator, Fedex driver for 7 years, and don't rarely get any reply back from these employers. No interview at the least! Had a phone interview earlier this month for a LED lighting company, seemed like a cool job but they don't offer any company sponsored health insurance and turns out I wasn't as qualified for the job. One thing I like about temp agencies, don't have to mess with the interview process as much. Are you a MMA fighter, by chance?

The mods have already said to keep it civil. What's with the ad hominem attacks? That's just mean. And I thought you were going to stop posting (twice)? Also this isn't the best place for your personal blog. Just saying. Good luck at the temp place anyway.

Re: Tulsi Gabbard Endorses Legalizing Drugs

Post by beathappening »

Since this is kind of an "All Things Tulsi" thread now, I thought this recent article was very interesting. I didn't know she sued Google. I'm not a big fan of Vox but here it is anyway

Tulsi Gabbard asked Twitter’s Jack Dorsey to hold a fundraiser for her. He said no.
https://www.vox.com/platform/amp/recode ... con-valley

Presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard approached Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey about hosting a fundraiser on her behalf, Recode has learned. Dorsey, who has given money to Gabbard’s campaign, ended up turning her down.

What makes her request unexpected is that she has run a campaign that is deeply critical of Big Tech and, at times, of Twitter. In fact, unlike other candidates who have simply talked, she’s taken things a step further by suing Google for temporarily suspending her advertising account following a Democratic debate, part of a generally unsupported argument that tech platforms are politically biased.

And Gabbard, a member of Congress from Hawaii, has said that, as president, she would “absolutely” consider breaking up Twitter, too, along with other tech companies that she deems “monopolies” that are “censoring” critical voices.

That Gabbard still asked Dorsey to fundraise for her shows how Democrats in 2020 are both talking tough about Silicon Valley’s power while also asking some of its billionaires and biggest celebrities to raise money and vouch for them. It’s another sign of the tightrope that almost all Democratic politicians have to walk these days.

Gabbard’s team made the request late last year. Dorsey initially expressed interest in hosting an event alongside Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, said a person familiar with the situation, but interest died as they struggled to find a date. Then came Gabbard’s controversial vote on impeachment in December. Dorsey ultimately declined to host Gabbard’s fundraiser, saying he was trying to stay focused on policy areas and therefore was not eager to wade so fully into backing specific candidates, according to a person close to Dorsey.

Gabbard’s aides didn’t return multiple requests for comment.

The presidential candidate has said in the past that she spoke with Dorsey, who is also the CEO of the payments giant Square, only after a donation he made to her campaign became public last July.

“I had not met or spoken to him. I saw that the contribution was made and reached out and said ‘thank you so much,’ and he expressed his support for my candidacy,” Gabbard told reporters in Iowa, adding that she wouldn’t return Dorsey’s check despite her thoughts on his company. “Nothing changes my position.”

In that same conversation, though, Gabbard acknowledged that Twitter would “absolutely” be among the companies that she would consider breaking up.

Gabbard has struggled to raise the big money needed to run a competitive presidential campaign. And so having the financial firepower of Dorsey — the only known billionaire backing her campaign — could seriously help, especially if he were willing to go beyond writing one $5,600 check and instead would invite other rich friends of his to do the same at a high-dollar fundraiser.

But while cutting a personal check is one thing, hosting a fundraiser for Gabbard would be another level of public support from a CEO whose company is facing ongoing battles over disinformation, regulation, and hate speech on its platform. Plus, Dorsey is still an undecided voter.

Dorsey has explained that he admired Gabbard’s distaste for foreign intervention. But like many Democratic primary voters, he has also shown support for and donated to a second candidate: Andrew Yang.

“I’ve made personal contributions because I appreciate Andrew’s focus on the coming displacement of work due to AI and automation, and Tulsi’s strong anti-war stance,” he tweeted last summer. “Along with systematically addressing climate change and economic injustice, these are the key issues of global consequence I want to see considered and discussed more.”

Yea, media would never actively try to de-legitimize candidates who challenge foreign policy consensus though, that's crazy.

I think it's less to do with trying to de-legitimize and more to do with objectively presenting the facts. It's a Trumpism and a classic authoritarian move to blame the media and try to make an enemy out of it.

This thread is a trainwreck and I can't look away! A few things....
Alex Jones : kind of a washed up has-been these days but he has called some stuff right. He called Epstein and Royal family misdeeds YEARS AGO. He just got fined 100,000 dollars for "slander" for saying Sandy Hook didn't happen. The unfair part? They don't have to prove it did happen to get a sick amount of money for slander. Uh...what? That doesn't seem right. I'm not here to say it did or didnt happen, but proving your case might be nice. I heard about Sandy Hook on the news. You know what else I heard on the news? That kratom is deadly and has senselessly murdered TENS of people. The news is NOT to be trusted, guys. EVER. And what's up with this THE DAY AFTER THE SHOOTING :

https://youtu.be/m6b6qPxAvY4

He is LAUGHING! This clip really made me think. It should make ANY parent think. Would you even be able to SPEAK twenty-four hours after your daughter was killed in a school shooting? I wouldn't. If I DID speak, it wouldn't be at a fucking PRESS CONFERENCE! Sheesh! I'll admit. I looked into it more. The anomalies go for miles. Pick a Sandy Hook parent. Any one. Watch the interviews. Just...doesn't add up. Just saying. Again, I have no clue if it did or didn't happen and i am not going to speculate, but the parents are fishy and say fishy shit. ALL OF THEM. I will say this. I'm going through major grief right now and the LAST fucking thing I'm doing is LAUGHING about my dead loved one! The Sandy Hook parents all want to smile and laugh on the news about their dead kids to Anderson Cooper, et. al? It's that simple. Now, correct me if I'm wrong here.

Guns : People should be allowed to have the same shit the military has. That's the whole idea behind the second ammendment. "The right of the people to keep and bear arms, SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" seems pretty cut and dry to me. Not a lot of room for "judicial creative license," as it were...I'm not into guns and would much rather settle it like men, but outlawing guns and spending trillions on defense just doesn't add up. Why do they need bigger badder guns? I wonder....

Russian spy Tulsi : Everyone on that level are buddies. Payouts here, handouts there, everybody gets them, everybody takes them. We give billions to Isreal all the time. Why? The money is to pay for SOMETHING every time. What? God only knows. Isreal is NOT a poor country and they DON'T need our billions. Not more than WE do anyway..There are no "assets" on that level. They all play golf and sniff cocaine and hang on Epstein's island TOGETHER. (Not a conspiracy. Flight logs exist)

Hillary Clinton : Shes trash. No question. Stealing donations for Haiti relief to pay for Chelsea's incredibly extravagant wedding? It's in the e-mails. She really did it and if you never got punished and were a slimebag, why not, right?

Trump : Hes trash.too. Who can put a number on the money hes stolen, the people he's fucked over (i know someone IRL that Trump STILL owes 65,000 dollars to since the mid 90s,) or the idiotic shit he's said? Wait a minute! Is there any winning this politics game? I dont know but let's argue about it eternally, right?

Something about Tulsi really draws the conspiracy theorists out of the woodwork. :ugeek:
By the way, if you have to qualify something as "not a conspiracy theory" there's a good chance it is one.

Read the second part of that statement. I think much more was addressed than that. What are YOUR views on these topics?

Oh, the part about Sandy Hook and it might be fake? Yeah, I didn't feel the need to hear more about that. Alex Jones right on some things? A broken clock is right twice a day. If you spew garbage 24/7, you'll get some stuff right just based on probability. Give a roomful of monkeys a bunch of typewriters...

Sorry, I'm just not that interested in your views. Your first post really told me all I need to know. But let me guess, Bush did 9/11 and moon landing never happened? The Earth is flat?

Did I say any of that? My views are stupid and "conspiracies" but your views are top secret? I asked you what you thought about any of that stuff and I think I have some good points. Debate. Retort. Enlighten me.

Look, I understand you're hungry for a crazy person internet debate, and that's wonderful, but I'm not your guy. I'm sure someone around here can oblige you though.

You're deflecting and speculating. Standard deception tactics. That makes me a little uncomfortable.

Does the thought of a new world order have the same effect?

How can you trash everyone else views and not feel the wont to share yours? You've trashed everyone that's chimed in but havent said anything in this whole thread about your stance. That's simply not right. I'm sorry, did I say anything about the new world order?

That you called it "the" new world order really says it all.

My fourteen year old is better at this than you. That's depressing. A new world order, the new world order, what are you talking about "that says it all?" That's semantics, man! You're trolling me. Why? I thought we were cool. For the third and final time, what are your views on any of these topics? How about SOME new world order? Is that better? Or as Bish (i love this typo so I'm leaving it, but sic) Sr. said "THIS new world order?" What's your point? Do you have one besides pissing everyone off?
