Major Hollywood players and companies have blacklisted this move about rescuing children from slavery. Backed by Mel Gibson, and starring Jim Caviezel, it's got a limited theater run (tons of places refused to show it) and Amazon, Netflix, and other streaming platforms didn't want to pick it up.

I'm expecting a pretty good action movie, no religion (any religion) crammed down my throat.

One of the conspiracies touted by the right wingers connected with this movie is that if you bring up some of the controversies involved with its background, etc, that you yourself are someone one of the bad guys, for child trafficking, and other such nonsense. part of the conspiracies that they tout (qanon type stuff) is that hollywood is involved with this whole child trafficking ring, etc, so this fits in well to that 'theory'. the child traffickers in the movie industry are of course trying to shut it down.

people should do their own research about this movie, and not simply accept right wing talking points.

it was a solid movie, didn't mention qanon at all, superb acting and made on a $14 million budget, reaped over $140million. No politics involved.

never said that qanon was mentioned in the movie. there is an agenda, and it is being used by far right wing extremists.

read what i said. do your research, and then continue to love the movie. it's your right.

i didn't love it, just said it was solid. you referenced qanon. i'd compare it to a mission impossible movie with low amount of special effect gadgets.

i mentioned that i wasn't into arguing about this. So, have fun. i think that my suggestion that people actually look into all of this was "solid".

It was a solidly made movie with a smidgeon of funding.

Good acting. It shines a little light to get people to notice a socio-political...some would say disonnance, and again, it's not trying to be a documentary at all.

Anyway, I don't feel like arguing eigther, lol.

EDIT - OK, I was curious. Even though I saw enough from Jim Caviezel in "Passion Of Christ" - (does this actor have a Messiah Complex ?) - But I was curious enough to read a few reviews including this one: Plays to the Qanon Crowd. ... Important subject, but bad film making ? And a movie about "exploitation" that seems to, by itself... feed on being sensational and exploiting... for money ? That sucks.

So... Mel Gibson, Dana White, Elon Musk, Ben Shapiro, Tim Tebow and "The Family Research Council" have endorsed the film ? OK and what about the known history of pedophilia in the Catholic Church, the Southern Baptist Church, and - Boy Scouts Of America ?? maybe someone should make a movie about them.

ok, almost fell asleep at the keyboard last night. I guess here's my comment, 'This movie isn't political at all or cast shade on any one group except pedophiles who kidnap kids for vile purposes. It's an action movie based on real experiences which are heroically presented. (In real life, I think the older sister does not get rescued, but more of the kids in the ring do - don't quote me on that).

I guess this brings up the question...how old is old enough? The age of consent here in Hawaii was 14, but I think it was upped. There are also exceptions when the parties are two or less years apart.

I was a young 20 and dated a 15yr old, her friend of the same age had a 50yr old sugar daddy with family.. . I guess it all depends on the situation, situation, and maturity.

Netflix might have run it, except they might be afraid of thus dredging up the negative publicity they garnered for Cuties.

It's about child sex traffickers which almost everyone agrees is evil. The thing with this is it is a movie"based on true events." With movies you can/do create story lines that align with your view,it's your movie, and the liberties you take can show views you believe but might not be accurate or just plain crazy. That's the part that turns most people off. The way people cry about "sO YoUrE FoR sEx TrAfFiCkErS" because they do not want to watch someones fiction about a serious subject is where the problem lies.

One of the guys who helped fund the movie has been charged with child kidnapping - Fabian Marta. And the guy behind the film has been facing misconduct charges himself. When you go rogue and ignore policy you're going to risk your mission and your reputation.
Republicans are so incredibly obsessed with children and child-trafficking that one wonders why they are so obsessed. We all tend to tell on ourselves.
