phenibut for RLS
I've been having a rough time with restless leg syndrome and want something to put an end to it on those nights.
I would not be using it recreationally, just to combat the RLS.
Has anyone used it and think it would work? There seem to be five or six chemical types of it too.

Please. Don't even go there. That stuff is dangerously addictive.

Do you have an alternative solution? I really need something to knock out the RLS.

I've heard gabapentin works well for it.IndelibleDotInk wrote:Do you have an alternative solution? I really need something to knock out the RLS.

Have you ever tried hemp cbd flower? Weed is illegal in North Carolina where I live but cbd hemp flower is legal in all 50 states. Smoking or vaping has really helped my dad with sleeping.IndelibleDotInk wrote:Do you have an alternative solution? I really need something to knock out the RLS.
My dad has dealt with RLS for decades. Two things helped him (and me as I have dealt with RLS for few years now as well): 1) Getting off Tramadol. Don't know how or why, but since using only kratom starting 4 years ago, our RLS has been reduced drastically. And 2) Hemp CBD bud/flower that we smoke before bed/in middle of night. Very good for sleep on its own but it also has worked great for any RLS we still sometimes get
And to think, my doctor in Florida put me on Xanax when I was 26 when my restless leg started getting worse. XANAX! I still take the god damn nightmare drug cause Xanax is insanely difficult to get off of. I'm currently about 1 month into a year long verrryyyy slow xanax taper. I take 2mg a night, and so I'm cutting like 1/10 off every month. I've tried several different taper methods like cutting my dose in half and a few other methods but the withdrawals are so damn brutal. I do get RLS sometimes while doing my xanax taper but the hemp bud takes care of the RLS for me within a few minutes. Wish I had access to legal or medical thc/cbd
Good luck and hope you find something that works. RLS has driven my dad nearly mad at times

I'll think about the hemp flowers, dunno if i wanna smoke stuff and deal with the hassle of having it smell the same as intoxicating cannabis.
And Xanax is out, hate the aftereffects and my RLS isn't affected much by Ativan.
Thanks for the reply.

If you can source it get Baclofen. It's similar to Phenibut but with much more manageable WD affects and it is more enjoyable. That said I would only take for three days during a tolerance break.

Re: phenibut for RLS
I cured RLS by taking a lot of potassium. Mainly I ate a lot of beets and beet leaves, every day (its the food highest in potassium I believe.) I learned that from Dr. Berg on youtube. It really works, RLS used to drive me mad.
Before that though I resorted to muscle relaxants, those work good too. They may or may not be hard to get depending on your doctor.
One other thing I do sometimes get really restless in general and Im sometimes concerned that RLS will come back. So what I do for this (and it might help get rid of RLS) is to take St. John's Wort. I take it in tea but theres a few ways to take it. Its really good for a lot of things and is worth a try unless you're already taking other meds, as there can be interactions with it.

I used to get Baclofen from my dealer Ahem..doctor, to take along side my Norco, morphine and Gabapentin, i remember getting 3 a day but I'd eat all of them at night when I'd lay down...don't remember it being anything like phenibut though..I would imagine it would cure RLS because when I did eat all 3 at night I'd wake up in the morning laying in my own pissFartBlaster wrote:If you can source it get Baclofen. Bingo. Get some Gabapentin .. its prescription, yes, but not a controlled substance. You can buy at offshore pharmacies!FartBlaster wrote:It is chemically similar to Phenibut , both work on gaba b receptors.
Phenibut would be very similar to Gabapentin - except you need to weigh and measure VERY carefully.. get the F.A.A. type at Liftmode

I had a work injury and so, L&I. My doc prescribed me 90 baclofen with 3 refills and I got them all to stash.FartBlaster wrote:If you can source it get Baclofen. I do like it better than phenibut, I tried that once and threw the rest of the bottle away. Didn't enjoy it at all but I wanted the experience. Baclofen is nicer. Did you know there's only one molecule's difference between the two?
Anyway, don't go thinking I've turned into a baclofen addict, I think I've taken one in the last I don't know how many months. Maybe 6?

Phenibut may work. But its insanely addictive. Your end result addiction will be far worse than rls. Trust me, stay away

I used phenibut a bunch but never had any withdrawal effects. I find the hysteria surrounding it to be a little silly, but that was just my experience. It didn't really do anything for my RLS though.

Re: phenibut for RLS
There's a bunch of good suggestions in this thread and I would also recommend staying the hell away from phenibut. It's incredibly difficult to come off of if you do start taking it regularly. More difficult than most other things that I've personally come off of.
There is a bunch of supplements that may help like fart blaster said anything that's dopaminergic can also help. Vitamins and minerals may also be helpful if you're deficient in one of them. Vitamin d, vitamin c, vitamin e, potassium, magnesium, calcium and others I can't think of off the top of my head.

Here's a link to an article that lists supplements, drugs, and other things you can do to deal with restless leg syndrome. if you haven't tried ALL of these things I would suggest starting there rather than with the phenibut as none of them are you going to put yourself at risk of developing a potential addiction to.

I will stay away from phenibut and try some other options. Kratom does seem to help a lot.
