Anyone here a fan?

I can't talk about it much because I'm only getting close to finishing the second book and I haven't seen the series yet but OMG THIS IS SO GOOD!!

The Expanse is a science fiction series set around the year 2350 when Earth has colonized the Moon and Mars to the point of Mars being an independent Republic. Humanity has pushed outwards into the Asteroid Belt (and beyond) with a third faction called The Belters. Both Martians and Belters are physiologically different after generations of humans born without the benefit of the same gravity on Earth. Governments, corporations, war, and poverty all exist with everyone trying to survive until a particular event happened that threatens humanity. Is it aliens? Some corporate project? Is the government involved? What are the implications of this discovery, what are the dangers, or can it help us go into The Expanse beyond our Solar System. The 9-book series intertwines numerous plot lines into a flowing narrative that continues to reinvent and increase the scope of the original story. The 10th book compilation of short stories provides an excellent background prior to events of the first book and some events between the novels. Amazon has picked up The Expanse from Syfy and all six seasons are available. The popular series tracks the book well with book writers being advisors on the show though the series ends early, at approximately book 6 in the series.



here's a link to Drive, a short story. This was technically free before but Amazon now charges for it though you can still find it in places. It was meant to be free since it only talks about the Epstein Drive. However it's an idea of the writing and it doesn't give anything away. It's also 33 pages long so really short compared to the novels.

It's scifi and I guess it can't be discussed unless you've at the very least read to the second book without spoiling everything.

If you like scifi, this is a must read. It's very easy to read and moves fast.

There are 9 main books and a bunch of short stories that fit in here and there. But like I said, they're relatively easy, fast reads. The friend who introduced me to the series a couple weeks ago sent me this today to show where the short stories fit in with the other books.

Anyway, if you like scifi, I HIGHLY recommend this series.

I see Amazon Prime has 6 seasons of this. I'm going to check it out!

I've only seen a few short clips (of parts I've already read) but I know a couple people have seen the whole series and say it's very good and true to the books.

I ordered books 1-8 from Ebay for a great price, a friend sent me the link. They'll be here today but I am going to read at least one other book between them, stretch the pleasure out a little.

I finished book 3 a couple days ago. Reading a different book between each one, trying to stretch it out.

I'm up to episode 6 on the series. I really like it! It's fast moving and the cinematography is beautiful. I highly recommend it!

It is beautiful, isn't it? As I finish each book the friend who introduced me to it links me to a short video clip from the series of a part I've already read, so I don't get spoiled. He's like, curating this experience for me and it's really cool. I can hardly wait to be able to sit and watch the whole series. No, wait. That means I'd have to finish all the books.

I'm really happy you're enjoying it.

I think I'll watch The Expanse next. Right now I'm binging 'The 100'... which is a strange show. I'm on season 5 out of 7. It started off pretty good (season 1 and 2 were really good) then it's literally just seasons of people making horrible decisions lol.

I loved her from the second I saw her.

Just started watching the Expanse recently. I binged 7 episodes today. On season 2 now. Amazing show so far!

I was checking out the books on Amazon and a lot of the reviews were from people that had seen the TV series then read the books, and they were loving them!

This is what I will probably do once I retire in a few months.

I was looking online while I was reading the first book and noticed there were a LOT of Rocinante tshirts but not much else, wondered why. By the end of the
second book I had developed a somewhat deep emotional attachment to that ship and then I understood.

My 27 yr old son is into Star Wars and has a ton of memorabilia. When he was younger I really enjoyed collecting with him. I could see him getting into The Expanse too.

I'm starting season 2. The end of 1 was so good with what happened to Miller and Holden and the introduction of the Rocinante. And you're right, it's hard to discuss it without giving it away.
