almost off tramadol
a friend told me about kratom at the beginning of the year. i had heard of it but i didn’t realize how beneficial it really is. at first i was taking it for motivation, which it has been good for, but a few months ago i decided to start lessening my tramadol usage. i’ve been taking 75 50 mg tabs per month, which was hardly enough to manage my pain but i don’t push the issue with my doctor because i’m just grateful they give me something. anyway, i am at the end of month 3 and i did my pill count for the end of the month and i still have 61. it’s crazy, i have not had any luck with anything else. hell, heavier pain meds actually make it hurt worse, muscle relaxers are pretty worthless and nerve pain medication doesn’t touch it. so now i have this plant, which i rather enjoy for the betterment of my mood too, and i’m just very grateful for the kratom community on mainly reddit and now this website, making it so easy to learn.

I started using kratom as a replacement for opioids as well. it's always been a far better pain killer than typical opis like hydrocodone and tramadol. I had a surgical procedure done last year, and they gave me some hydrocodone afterwards, which I hadn't taken in years. it did next to nothing, even at higher doses (20-30mg). so then I took some kratom and it completely relieved the pain.
I used to love hydros, along with other opis I took them daily for years, but I don't find them enjoyable anymore. I would pick kratom everytime, whether it be for pain or just relaxation. it's great for maintenance as well, so much more preferable than a suboxone or methadone.
I remember using tramadol to try to come off full agonists, and it helped, but coming off tramadol was only marginally easier. good luck staying clean!

Wow, you and I could be brothers from another mother. I did almost exactly the same as you for years as well (I still have a few hundred Hydros in my medicine cabinet as my doc would prescribe them so I could take five a day or more). And when I had knee issues neither they nor Oxy did a thing for me, but Kratom works a treat.
With Kratom I was able to stop using opioids completely - haven't touched one for six months (of course it helped that they weren't doing any good anyway).
