Anyone feel like kratom has the lost the public support
Anytime I see a kratom story pop up on facebook with the numerous ban pills it's always "this stuff needs to be banned" "how is this legal" "My jimmy overdosed and died from this" etc. It feel likes 2026 is the final year for kratom.

Not sure it ever had any public support, pretty sure the general public has no idea what it is, until the news tells them how to feel about their latest clickbait boogeyman. Local news runs stories about kratom addicts, and people stealing/dying for or from it. All nonsense. What they really need to do is regulate those gas station/headshop extract "shots" of it. Those seem to be 99%+ of the problem every time. Whatever exactly is in those, I doubt very much is has much to do with kratom as I know it, a boring powdered leaf I take to stay as mellow and yet alert as I can without scheduled prescription drugs. Harmful corporate drugs, internal organ damaging corporate drugs, expensive corporate drugs, addicting corporate drugs. You see the pattern here I'm guessing.

This is exactly how I feel about it. Things have gotten so extreme, money hungry, and polarized in general because in the US. I hate it because we should be able to live more in the grey. I hate big pharma in general but that doesn’t mean there aren’t good or important pharmacological medications that need to exist. I hate most doctors but that doesn’t mean there aren’t fantastic ones who can save my life. I hate gas station trash but love kratom and it has improved the quality of my life so much. Unfortunately because of the polarized click baity titles “journalists” go for nowadays a lot of people are getting the wrong idea about what kratom really is. I’m afraid to share that I take it because I know once they google it they’ll get some crazy ideas. I’m pretty sure a lot of it is misinformation at this point rooted in lobbying from people with big financial interests

Yes, I see things spiraling downward. These attempts/movements to ban... now notice this... are all because of the development & wide sales of 7-OH & related analogs. 7-OH is strong enough to screw folks up & I see lots of users complaining how addicting it is & feel trapped in it. Promoting a hard drug is going to doom kratom sales because non-users don't see any difference between kratom & derivatives, so they'll agree with a ban. The DEA & FDA , having failed to ban kratom in years past, have been gifted a perfect way for them to succeed. By connecting kratom & 7-OH in their warnings, the public sees them both as evil & dangerous - guilt by association. Commercialization of 7-OH is going to end badly.

I feel that 7oh has definitely damaged the reputation of kratom. I also see a lot of negativity surrounding kratom on facebook but social media is just a super toxic place in general where people tend to focus on negativity. All in all, I think kratom will be okay federally but there may be some more localized bans like we're seeing in some cities and states.

Now it's all on the chopping block.
I have yet to see where America is anything even resembling 'free.'

I just dunno who is buying anything other than gas, at a gas station ha-ha. Is anything there not over-priced or barely legal ? Even in a state where weed is legal, ain't no one buying it at a gas station....

Let's all be diligent to teach what kratom is so
that others won't continue to beleive these "other" products are kratom. Especially when they go to rehab facilities and say, "i'm addicted to kratom" and they see these hard withdrawals.

I'm sure that's all part of it just like it's an opioid and should be stopped because of the "opioid epidemic" so suddenly with a flick of the tongue kratom and fent are "the same."
They LOVE that game.
Like Scott Gottlieb "Former head of the FDA" BUT they left out the "on the board of Pfizer" part. Same shit.

Re: Anyone feel like kratom has the lost the public support
I read the news on and off about this 7-oh and the kratom ban (that increasingly going) in the states. The 1st product that is consumed was kratom powder at first then come this 7-oh tablets, claiming that it is the "equal version" of kratom itself. I read some science research about this:
1. From kratom to 7-hydroxymitragynine: evolution of a natural remedy into a public-health threat. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12671409/
2. Elevated 7-Hydroxymitragynine Levels Found in Products Misbranded as Kratom. https://www.researchgate.net/publicatio ... _as_Kratom
Reading this, i understand that this 7-oh tablets is by means a synthetic products that are very different with the kratom powder itself (it is exclusively from the leaf itself, not being induced with other chemical products). Unfortunately the public view that 7-oh is same with kratom powder although it isn't. It is sad that the banning is extended to the kratom powder instead only 7-oh tablets...
