Wondering if anyone has had issues with maeng da recently?

This is my first post here so apologies if I come off as a noob.

I’ve been using premium green maeng da from various vendors for many years and am accustomed to being able to go 8-9 hours without having to redose. A couple weeks ago, I switched to a batch that I got from Herbal RVA and have noticed that I feel the need to redose after just 5-6 hours; it is the same quality/potency I’m accustomed to initially but it just wears off fairly quickly.

This definitely isn’t meant to be a slight towards RVA, I’ve been using them for years and their stuff is consistently high quality and affordable and their shipping is super fast. I’m just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience with premium green maeng da recently or if it’s just me. Someone mentioned a similar problem with a different vendor so I’m wondering if one of the wholesalers just has weird PMD right now. Thanks!

Vendors who buy by the metric ton will struggle with consistency and quality issues. Why don't you try one of the small batch vendors talked about and reviewed here?

Maeng da isn't one specific strain. Different maeng das can come from completely different parts of the world. Maeng da only means "pimp grade" or "high quality" which often is just a marketing gimmick. I usually stay away from maeng das unless I happen to try one and it's actually good, because literally anything can be labeled maeng da.

well, sorry to "Break the News" guys but it's not The Vendor or the Maeng Da, that stops working... it's just kratom.

Herbal RVA imports from the same Indo suppliers as a dozen other vendors. So spending more & more money to "Try" basically the same product at a different vendor.. Sure a different batch might be a little stronger. A Little.. did you hear complaints on RVA's Facebook page, like he got a truly bad batch or something ?? That would be un-likely but possible.. Always keep a variety on hand.

Over and over we hear "Kratom is not working".. it's Tolerance. Take a break!! FIRST sign is, having inter dose withdrawals - Exactly what the OP is saying. And NO - the solution is NOT more kratom, more often, more doses, more vendors.... The Solution is to take LESS.

Yeah based on OPs description, classic tolerance and withdrawals, 100%.
Every vendors Maeng da is different, different strains. It's just a name, means nothing essentially. A vendor could get any random generic unnamed "green" strain from Indo, fill their own bags with it and slap a label on it, and sell it to you. bam...you have Maeng da. Or whatever else they want to name it.

Just to clarify a few things here, I’m aware that strains are mostly a marketing gimmick. I’m not asking about the strain in general, I’m asking if anyone purchased PMD from this specific vendor within the last 3-4 weeks found it to be short acting because you would have likely gotten the same batch as me.

I’m not “spending more and more money to try the same strain from a bunch of different vendors”. I’ve used kratom off and on for 6 years, and I rotate through a handful of vendors that are popular on here and other kratom forums. I’ve just organically had PMD from multiple vendors over the years.

The reason I asked this question in the first place is because I have been trying to taper off kratom for the past couple weeks. Everything was going fine until I cracked into a new bag so I was trying to gauge whether I need to try a different product so I DON’T have to take more kratom. I’ve nearly always used green strains in general, they’ve always lasted 7-9 hours or longer for me.

I agree. If I watch my serving amounts I might get 7-9 hours of relief. Lately it has been around 6 hours because I'm not watching as closely or measuring as carefully.

After joining MM last year and reading others' experiences, 6 hours seems to be about average. Ballz' s advice can be difficult to instrument, but I think it's good advice.

Time off of kratom is the key, I take pretty big doses, 6-8 grams but when I only dose twice a day...as long as keep time in between doses, especially from my last dose till I take my first 14-16 hours later the next morning, the longer a burn lasts...
