What’s everyone’s favorite leaf ‘color’ and why?

I am a huge fan of green varieties. My love for greens has not once changed since I first started taking kratom 2-3 years ago. I’m just a huge fan of the euphoria/happiness I get from some green maeng das. I do not fancy reds because they lack in the happy department. When I was new to Kratom, reds were definitely nice and very unique compared to green varieties. Now, In my case with a tolerance, Reds give me little to no stimulation. Especially when you are going through withdrawals or tapering, taking a red has never cut it for me because it just sedates me and I will still be in the bummy mood I was in before ever taking anything. Who knows, maybe I haven’t given red varieties enough benefit of the doubt to test different batches from different vendors. Maybe one day I will run across a red that changes my mind. So, what is your guys’ favorite ‘vein color’ and why?

Greens have a better hit/miss ratio for me. Reds and whites can still be good, just different in a way that would be more specifically suited for chronic pain or sleep deprivation scenarios that I don't have to deal with any more. Getting enough different batches and strains of greens lets the natural distribution of their effects handle every other normal situation in my experience. Yellows and golds seem less predictable to me.

It varies depending on vendor.

But no matter how I slice it, vein color matters so little and its more a case of "good vs. bad"

Even knowing this though, I still gravitate toward reds yellows and golds because I'm assuming anything labeled as such is going to be more likely to calm me down which is what I am mostly in need of. That I've found the most versatility amongst fermented strains.

A note on recent history and visual colorization- in the last 6 months of ordering I've noted that extremely lime or bright (even to the point of minty) leaf has been the most reliable hits for me. If I could pick bright-lime I would Which is of course in direct contrast to my appreciation of fermented which is testament to why the matter confuses me

Whites hands down for me. Greens are pretty good too, I just like that motivated get up and get moving feeling I get from whites. Every variety has it's place at some point but those are my go to faves.

I'm one of those folks who doesn't notice a ton of difference between the varieties. If anything, green usually seems the 'strongest' overall, then red and white, and I tend to avoid yellow/gold as the handful of them I've tried always seem the weakest. Like everyone is saying/going to say, the colors/names don't mean a ton. I just try to find good vendors and ask them to send me a variety of the ones with the best reviews/most popular, and that's served me well enough.

I love the reds! I used to be a Green man - they are definitely the easiest to nail down a good burn with. But I kept noticing that every once in a blue moon I would have the most spiritual burn with a red. (Not to mention that they are a whole lot more pain relieving than any other strain).
I love some whites too, but when a red hits just right, there’s no better burn. Now, if I could just unlock that mystery that makes a lot of red burns flop

But, just since you brought up the topic: I have observed that the reds I get from TFH are always a very definite shade of GREEN whereas the reds I get from most everyone else DO look a little "redder" (color-wise) in comparison. I never really noticed it before because I really stock up on TFH and mostly use that. Then when I dip into my stash of other vendors, I see the difference. And I have a lot of different reds (Balis, Thai, kapuas, Maeng Da), so they shouldn't be bents or fermented strains. And yet they do sort of look like it (plus I usually end up having to take more and they taste 'redder' [i,e, YUK!]).

This is VERY interesting: to me, at least, because I have only been enjoying kratom for a year. Other kratom lovers may disagree, but I have never found any leaf that can match TFH.

When I opened my first TFH package I maybe, Might, have though "hmmm, how green." But I don't recall. I love Liza, Sosa and, recently Fused Flora, but their reds are not truly GREEN. And I'm not feeling their reds as efficiently as TFH.

I don't know what TFH is doing differently (I would LOVE to know). Many people look for heavy, sedating reds. Once I became adjusted to TFH's reds I seldom felt sleepy. I am perfectly able to function AND enjoy pain relief (but just me). My anxiety level is always at a 9 so, like an elephant, it takes a lot of sedation to bring me down

I agree with Greyfeather and Jabro70. Obviously the TFH farmer is doing things no one else is doing. Different curing, drying processes to get that color. Not only that, the variety of effects he gets is amazing. For someone looking for a unique kratom experience, July 1st is a wonderful opportunity.

Msybe unfermented reds? I don't know how much the color really has to do with it but those unfermented reds usually seem to be the best for me. I cant shake this feeling of a bunch of indo's crowded around a computer reading this thread and laughing and going 'lol stupid American'

They probably do! I can imagine when they came up with that tarp to broil stuff called black maeng da they were sayin' "those damn Americans fry bananas they'll love this shit!!"

Greens are honestly the only ones I get a great effect from. I get motivated, clear headed and an uplifted mood. Whites have a just okay effect. Every red I have tried has made me feel thick headed and sluggish with no positive effects. Most others (beside green) give me a pressure headache.

I love whites and greens but use mostly whites now. I had 16 infusions of chemotherapy last year and the last 12 I started using whites by themselves. They helped me get over the fatigue from chemo and then during the 25 radiation treatments they were a life saver. So many have debilitating fatigue from radiation but I got through it just fine. Kratom, regular exercise and my pup are the best medicine .
