T&W vs TEA? Or both

Post by PlantBasedRay97 »

Over the years I've been an on/off kratom user first experience was a tiny container of ground leaf that was somehow T&W ingested/mixed and then chugged. I would take 2-4 grams and feel that "honeymoon" for awhile. During that time TEA was not working for me I was very inexperienced with kratom TEA but never got any effects similar to T&W. 3 years later of on/off use, April TFH EVENT first purchase of kratom from a vendor thanks to DOUBLE M also a new way of consuming kratom. Areopress TEA, I tried the TFH leaf T&W with great results but soon after I noticed that my T&W was no longer easy because my does had gone pass 10+g 1 maybe 2 times a day. That's why I decided to go with TEA I knew tea really didn't hit for me so I increased my does slightly also I AM STRAINING OUT the plant mater and pressing it to get as much as of the goodies without the nasty constipating leaf. I now do this with good results but my does had crept up to 30+ split into 2 serving drank in similar proximity. It never really did hit with tea like T&W OR MIXED WITH OJ did. I got to the point that I decided to stop taking kratom cold turkey because I was getting minimal effort from lots of leaf. This is where my questions are.

To the experienced users that have had time to play with many different ways for consuming kratom.
Do you get the same effect from tea as T&W?
Is T&W really a sustainable way of consuming?
Does T&W keep your does lower? And in term of health and effects would a higher does of tea be better or more sustainable?

If anyone is interested I am doing a 1 week tea break that I think ends on Wednesday but I have some of that STH PRT coming In on Tuesday night so I might just cut it a day short. As far as WD I honestly thought that it would be much worse because of my high gpd but I'm not experiencing any except for runny nose sneezing and a little bit of lethargic feels Im pretty sure this is because I was only consuming tea for the last months.

I like to mix it all up and I get great results from following ace s thread and balz as well theres something to be said for the prep, you want to get all the alkaloid s you can.So for me crushed leaf or powdered toss an wash ,or tea its all good to me I keep my gpds below 20 gpd if it rises its a tea break for me,

No, I don't get the same effects from tea as toss and wash. The positive effects that you're asking about, yes, but I no longer have some of the negatives. The uncomfortable stomach or digestive pains that sometimes I got with toss and wash are gone with tea. I also have an easier time passing it and find I don't have to hydrate as much with tea than with toss and wash. The burns often hit me faster now too.

Toss and wash is sustainable but I would say there's a lot of variables here. Do you exercise? What's your diet like? How old are you/how active is your metabolism? Each one of these will affect how the powder is digested and how it impacts you personally. Some people could toss and wash their whole life with no issues, others are intolerable of the plant matter from the get go. It really depends on you.

My dose is roughly the same now with tea as with toss and wash. Though initially higher, it was quickly reduced, as I often rotate, take breaks, and take other measures to keep it low. Though this would be the same for me if it were tea or tossing. However, the added benefit now is I can often gauge how strong a new sample is off the color of the tea. I couldn't do this with powder at all. And though not a science, I think the color of the tea is about 80% indicative of the amount of alkaloids extracting in the tea making process. It's rare that I have a strong light amber one.

For higher doses of leaf, I imagine the plant matter is much harder on the gut. I have problems with plant matter under 10gpd, but I know folks that have no issues with 50gpd tossing, it just depends person to personas explained above.

What I would say is that I don't think there is any reason to reinvent the wheel. What I mean is that kratom has been a know commodity for at least 1000 years, likely longer. In all that time, I would like to think folks have figured out the best way to consume, and most of the Malaysians and Indonesians I've seen consume in tea. I choose them as kratom is part of their culture and most people know exactly what kratom is and have tried it (I can't say the same for the US). There's many reasons why they choose tea, from the risks associated with contaminated leaf to the reduced impacts on digestion. Though leaf curing has dramatically improved and is often tested now, thousands of years of experience still show the most common way to consume is through tea, as America doesn't make up the largest consumption yet.
