3 days of no-kratom experiment.
So after taking kratom for about 3 month every day (half a gram to 2 gram doses up to 6 grams per day) I decided to stop & see if there would be any side effects.
Before I even began taking kratom I would sometimes have this feeling of anxiety & faster heart rate, kratom pretty much helped to eliminate that feeling, so after I stopped taking kratom, I felt it again a specially in the morning, another thing I noticed after couple days of not taking it is that my blood sugar levels have jumped dramatically so I had to compensate again with higher dose of insulin, when I was taking insulin with kratom, i could use much smaller insulin dose. I did not experience any leg shaking, loss of hair or itching, so I was just wondering what was the longest kratom brake you've taken and have you experienced any side effects?

After 6 month's use daily(2-4g a day) I stopped for a month & only had 2 days of slight jitters. I started up again & went for 1.5 years, took another month off... it was pure hell. The acutes were intense but short- lived, even so, it was the most ruthless PAWS ever. Daily multiple panic attacks, muscle spasms & cramps that would not stop, deep unrelenting depression. The was no joy, no hope, nothing good, only soul-darkness. My wife was so scared she took me to the ER. 28 days of that & I decided taking kratom again was a necessity for my sanity. I've been trying to taper but it's not easy. Those PAWS come back like a pack of hungry wolves. So here I am. Be careful. Low doses won't necessarily save you. Take breaks often.

We're in some unexplored territory here.. Until they get kratom ALL figured out, how & how much to take etc. It's trial and error. We know it works! But.. we're missing the details of exactly how much, and when, and how to manage this stuff. I take it mostly for mood support, and help with aches and pains (I'm an old man retired.) Look... they're only in recent years figuring out the long term benefits of Coffee. After what, 100 years of people drinking coffee beans.. they get around to it. What I saw is very positive. Old people who drink a LOT of coffee are not getting Alzheimers.. is one thing. But just TRY to quit a Starbucks habit, cold turkey... you get headaches, shakes, its like Marlboro cigarettes they discovered are spiked with extra Nicotine - that Starbucks cup you know really hits the spot
Yeah I'm a daily kratom user. Careful taper with Agmatine is the best option, right now.

Re: 3 days of no-kratom experiment.
On the evening of day 3 without kratom, I've tested blood sugar and it was 300, I decided it's time to run another experiment and took 2 grams of "Red Bali" from socal, then had few snacks (didn't take any insulin or metformin) and 4 hours later tested sugar level again and it was 210.
I'd say it definitely helped on the diabetes side.
Also the level of clear peaceful calming feeling was very noticeable after the 3 day no-kratom period.

Type II here. That is awesome! I try to keep my eating and my doses as far apart as possible so I haven't noticed a specific link, but I don't doubt it.On the evening of day 3 without kratom, I've tested blood sugar and it was 300, I decided it's time to run another experiment and took 2 grams of "Red Bali" from socal, then had few snacks (didn't take any insulin or metformin) and 4 hours later tested sugar level again and it was 210.
How long between the Red Bali and the snacks, if I may ask? I'm going to try to replicate your experiment.
We may not get the same results because there are WAY too many variables to control, but even if we don't it's still good info to know: I only ever worried about the effect of the juice I was taking it with and never even began to think that the leaf itself would have any effect. See, in my mind any green leafy veg = good, and kratom is a green leaf, so that's how I've been thinking of it.
Thank you for this!!!

Hey you're welcome Whiffy, the snack time after kratom dose was about 35 or so minutes I also have type II, of course the body physiology and weight can also play role in this as everyone is different, I weight about 240lb & took 500mg magnesium with kratom to avoid constipation issue.

Great thread...it's got me thinking I need a break too. Also have battled with higher sugar levels in my blood but not diabetes level (yet). I've actually held off being fully diabetic by reducing my carbs (although that's not exactly easy and has withdraws as well).
I'm heading to China (again) on Monday so not the best time to take a break from Kratom but I'll be back in October and will try then.
Thanks
