After two weeks off

So yesterday was a "Disney day" (taking a friend to Hollywood Studios) and the first time in two weeks I took kratom (was sick for about 10 days and then just waited out the last three or so).

I took my usual 2.5 grams (of TFH 651) and it was WAY too much. I should have cut the dose in half, perhaps. I was almost sick to my stomach - finally recovered but was SO loopy for hours. Then I took a dose of a TFH Green Hulu top rated and, again, too much. Worse, it made me REALLY sleepy, so much so I actually took a nap on the park bench for a while.

Final dose was a TFH top red with (again, poor judgement) a Margarita. Should not have mixed - the kratom made the alcohol something like 3-4x stronger, and I was almost completely knocked out.

Needless to say, I've learned my lesson. No kratom on this day of rest but on our last day to the parks tomorrow (Epcot) I'm going to reduce the doses by half and tread VERY carefully.

Lol sounds like you had a heck of a day. That TFH is potent stuff. I dosed 3.5g then 4hrs later another 3.5g. Too much. Could have cut my second dose in half. That was with the 30yr wild Jade Hulu. Take care everyone!

I really should have realized after two weeks I could reset myself much lower. I just kept expecting things to level out. Sigh.

And then, this morning, I ended up taking 2.5 grams of a Denette yellow. It was REALLY good - but now I'm sleepy again. So I'll take an afternoon nap before more strenuous adventures (I needed something this morning, though - my legs are all beat up from 5.5 miles of walking in the parks).

Careful with alcohol and kratom combo my friend, can cause brain swelling

As a rule I don't drink anymore, but we were at the parks, having a special dinner, and my daughter bought me a Margarita which was delicious.

But I realized how very potent the kratom makes it - it won't happen again.

Wow, amazing what a 2 week break can do, thx for the insight!

Yes, it was a definite reset. I'm not sure with my tennis schedule I can do this again any time soon but it sure potentiated the kratom I took to a huge degree.

ime Even a 2 day Break, is enough to re-set / up-regulate the receptors ... Two Weeks ? you'd be almost Back to square One. 8-)

Assume you're not taking any pain pills, hydro's, etc... A Quality TFH could hit around, 1 Gram ? We forget, that average kratom IS active for new people @ 2 grams.

So MANY people online, Facebook, YouTube, bitching & moaning because they took WAY way too much. :?

I think we both, went through a period of discovery - High Doses - before we figured out "Less is More" :ugeek:

Yes, you are correct.

This morning I went with 1.5 grams and, so far, it seems just perfect. While as a rule I don't want to go without kratom for that long (again, due to tennis) at the very least it tells me I *can* reset things quite dramatically (I was just very, very dumb in not realizing this).

I feel the same. I find a 48 hour t-break usually does the trick. Even when I do only 24 hours, I find it to be a pretty effective soft reset. I take kratom for chronic pain, so going 2 weeks is out of the question for me.

I find that eating sometimes helps… key word being “sometimes”. It’s not a failsafe, but it has definitely helped me on occasion when the kratom hits too hard. The hard part is forcing yourself to eat with the wooziness.

One Sunday afternoon I took a white and it just hit all kinds of wrong. But as soon as I ate, the feeling dissipated. It has something to do with one of the alkaloids in kratom lowering blood sugar but I’m not quite sure of the specifics.

From the time I started taking kratom (a little over a year ago) I've done it every other day, occasionally every third day. After seeing all the 3-doses-a-day folks' comments interspersed with complaints about kratom not working as well for them and/or the apparently major withdrawal that's possible/probable eventually, I just decided to do one dose, every other day.

I've never regretted it. I mainly take kratom for pain relief (osteoarthritis), but I also enjoy the stimulation and mild euphoria that comes with quality leaf, and so far I enjoy almost every dose a lot! (I typically take 3-4 grams)

Anyway, that's my 35 cents worth, adjusted for inflation. And thanks to all those here on DoubleM who've been so helpful in helping me learn more about this wonderful leaf :D

Whenever I take a break, I’m always surprised how weak kratom is. I always think I’ll get the super effects, and it’s never true. I’ve taken a 6 and 9 month break over 5 years, it is what it is. I’ve never taken kratom and felt it was too much, just at a point it never does anything more and then you’ll ruin your chances of feeling it next time. I don’t know if this comes from my background if harder opiate addiction, or what, but I almost feel jealous of people who talk like this

Never meant to make anyone feel bad - if it helps, my experience was NOT a good one.

Even yesterday - when I would have typically dosed three times at around 2.5 grams each (so about a total of around <8 grams) I got whamboozled. I took 1.5 grams to start - thinking I won't make the same mistake THIS time - of TFH's Afterburner White. It's supposed to be powerful, but it was the first time I had tried it.

It hit me VERY hard and, worse, we rode "Guardians of the Galaxy Rewind" at Epcot, a ride I will NEVER ride again. There's a reason they have vomit bags at the exits (and I was not the only one sitting on the bench at the end with a bag in hand). I had been feeling a *bit* bad waiting in line, thinking the kratom just didn't sit right with me, but after the ride? I was never the same the rest of the day.

Dear daughter asked why I didn't dose later in the day when the park had basically kicked my ass and I told her I just could not. So I did not - a day of 1.5 grams was WAY too much for me for the entire day. Knowing what I know now, I almost think I would have to "get used to" kratom all over again (this morning I tried another 1.5 dose of a much less powerful green so we'll see. I don't plan on going anywhere, either :>).

I think the time off was necessary - I was sick with bronchitis and there was no reason to use kratom during that time - but I will now never purposefully seek that kind of reset. I'm fine with the tolerance I used to have, and I assume I'll get it back again.

Crazy you have become so sensitive to Kratom Kelley.

My wife is the same way and I usually give her Kratom with food or at a lower dose. I know eating and taking Kratom is against your ways but it helps while you are sensitive, might be worth giving it a shot!

Yeah - this morning I had only 1.5 grams and... I was sick to my stomach again.

Sigh. I'm going to have to approach this VERY carefully now. I cannot believe I have done this to myself - so far, after two weeks off, I have not had ANY good experiences with trying it a total (over two days) of four times. So I think this evening I will try (wait for it) half a gram just to see if I can take some without getting ill.

I’d try a lower dose with food, that seems to be the best formula for my wife to not get nauseous but it’s kinda random. Gave her some master crafted red yesterday (1.35g) with food and it didn’t go well…hope you’ll figure it out man.

Thanks for the suggestion - I did try this (even though my usual operation is to take it on an empty stomach) and it helped in that I did not get sick.

However, the effect wasn't great. I was starting to get worried about this, but just took another tester from my favorite vendor and... wow. No worries.
