Here's a recipe that I use for making Kratom tea:
Place 1 cup (8oz of water) and 2 grams of Kratom powder in the pressure cooker along with half a gram of Magnesium Citrate, squeeze half a lemon into the pot and put remainder of squeezed lemon it in as well (no need to mix anything the pressure cooker will do that for you)
set to medium heat for 5 minutes, after which you should hear steam hiss 3 times, turn off pressure cooker, wait another 5 minutes for pressure to release, then open the pressure cooker
You can use strainer and cheese-cloth or empty reusable tea bag on top of metal straining basket to strain the tea, I use AeroPress for this to remove most of the plant material from the tea.
First slide plunger into AiroPress to about 10%, then turn it upside down so the opening of aero-press is upwards, dump the kratom liquid from pressure cooker into the aero-press along with lemon and stir it a bit, then attach coffee-filter & puck part to top of AeroPress, and quickly reverse it puck-side down onto the cup, slowly squeeze the plunger into the cup for some clean tea, if it gets hard to push on the plunger, apply elbow on top of it and slowly press down. The puck will retain the lemon, seeds and plant material.
Kratom tea comes out amazing! tastes lemony and the effects last a good while.
Pro-Tip for aero-press filter, you can wash the filter and re-use it many times.

have you found that inverting the aeoropress makes a difference?

Yes, inverting AeroPress makes it easier to apply pressure on the plunger, when trying to do it the "normal way" it was almost impossible to press it.

P.S. Just recently realized that it's much easier to use AeroPress when it's placed on a chair instead of table, this way you can use your entire body weight to lean on AeroPress plunger and it will work without much effort.

I've revised my Kratom recipe to last all day so there's no need to prepare it 3 times and it's so potent!
Best part about it is even using bunk kratom from 5 years ago that didn't have much effect, using tea method it works amazingly

1) Put about table-spoon of water in a cup and squeeze one thirds of lemon into it, drop about 5 or 6 grams of Kratom there, I also like to add half a gram magnesium citrate as well
2) Use battery operated mixer (milk frother) dunk it under the water, tilt cup slightly so that liquid and kratom is all in one corner and mix for a few seconds and then drop squeezed lemon in there as well
3) Wait 10 minutes to extract alkaloids
4) Add more water until cup is half full then pour the entire thing into a pressure cooker
5) Cook for 4 minutes on medium heat (or until you hear 3 whistles from pressure cooker)
6) Turn off pressure cooker and wait about 2 minutes (until hissing stops)
7) Use AeroPress to filter Kratom tea into a cup, I like to add more water to fill cup to the top, mixture becomes cool enough to drink
8) Pour the whole mixture into a glass bottle and screw the top cap, glass retains quality of liquid better then plastic, then I can draw lines on glass bottle dividing it into portions and drink at desirable time.

I tried using some other persons method who said not to boil kratom and just add hot water instead but results weren't desirable, could barely get any effect.

I avoid taking raw powder now because when I was using it raw it resulted in lots of itching.

thanks! many struggle with tea, myself included.

Do you think cooking it on the stove is necessary since you are pressure cooking it? Seems like overkill. Imma try it out. Good for all the subpar leaf... and i just happen to have a pressure cooker!

I had the idea for using a pressure cooker like two years prior and even got an instapot on craigslist, but never got the experiment off the ground.

Thank you so much for your new recipe and reminding me to keep trying tea. So far so good. Oh wait, my aeropress could not handle all that muck. Quick counter cleanup and a nice buzz.sssssssssssssssssss

Just read... Great idea, for using bunk kratom. Never thought of this.

Actually, I own a pressure cooker too. I have no idea how to operate it but might be able to figure this out. I've often wondered if taking the bulk of the plant material out of my dose would help keep me hydrated more. I am guessing I would need to use more gms of kratom per dose. How much more? Would love to chat about this more.

On a side note...
I brew Yerba mate and that stuff dehydrates me more than kratom does and I don't even eat it!
