Chocolate and Golds

Greetings -

1. Im wondering what it means when "chocolate" is mentioned in the strain. For example, I bought a red jong kong and a chocolate jong kong and I'm wondering what the difference is?

2. My second question is about GOLDS. Are golds the same as yellows ? What exactly makes up a Gold?

Thank you!

As far as chocolates go, I've heard two things.

First, is its a fermented red, like bentuangie. Second, ive read that they add cocoa to it in Indonesia. Although I do not know how true that is.

I to am curious about golds and yellow differences. I'm sure it's all depending on how its dried.

In 1 word. Chocolate = Brown. :?

But nobody wants "Brown Dirt Kratom" so Chocolate sounds more yummy & appetizing ...

Basically it's heavily fermented kratom. It's over-done Bentuangie where they left it sitting in the bag too long.. Yes it's thought that "Bent" or fermentation, brings out certain alkaloids .. Most often used in Red blends where they want to create a heavy or sleepy effect. Most Indo kratom IS a blend!

Ballz told you true on the chocolate question. For golds and yellows, here ya go:
Golds are reds that have been dried/fermented/oxidized differently (and/or simply various colors that have been blended) in order to produce an effect that is somewhere between green and red.

Yellows are similarly processed (and/or blended) whites designed to create an effect that is somewhere between white and green.
:D

Wow, great info!!

I don't care for whites too much and while I still will give everything a try, it sounds then that I may like golds better then yellows.

So is it fair to say that Bents would be the strongest most sedating, say for example, more than red balis?

Yeah, golds and yellows are markedly different. Confuse them and you may end up asleep on your feet at work or wide awake at 3am.

Yes, BUT... take into consideration that strains have varying power levels.

I've had bents that were less powerful than regular leaf -- for example BB has a White Bent that's pretty mellow for a white -- and I've had red and chocolate bents that were about the same as their plain counterparts. RVA Royal Bent would be a good example of this: for whatever reason it's kind of meh on its own, but add it to another red and you have couch lock.

So in general, yes, bents tend to have stronger effects than plain leaf, but it can go either way depending on that particular strain and its quality.

Also, be advised: some people get more body load with bents, probably because of the fermentation, and the larger your doses the more likely it is that if you're sensitive to something in a bent, you'll react to it. Most people don't have a problem with bents, but some do, just so you know.

Definitely try some if you get the chance, see how they work for you!

As you're probably all too well aware, there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to kratom. Bents vs. plain is no different.
