Schedule - timing your doses

OK, so I asked Kelleytoons his schedule which led to his eating AFTER your dose thread.

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=11412

My question is.. how do you space out your doses and meals (and BM, if you care to share).

The long period of non-hitting for me was

wake 8:15a and dose
work (manual labor) until 2:15p, dose
dinner 5:15p
sometimes try to sneak in a nighttime dose

the poop could come at any time, generally once per day, lol.

I equate the non-hitting to a stupidly high tolerance, which is being brought down to 2-3g, but it could also be as Kelleytoons posits, helped by some food awhile after the dose, say 30-60 minutes since I use toss n wash.

opinions?

I find that eating 30-45 minutes after my dose not only amplifies effects, but gives the leaf longer legs. It doesn't seem to matter what I eat

Thanks for the input D, always love your presence here on DoubleM and your MeWe is usually packed.

So 30min after dosing - are you using t&w or other method?

Kelleytoons uses capsules, it could slow things down a bit, 60-90min was his window.

Like little pieces of a puzzle, hope we can put it together and figure it out.

I don't do well with caps. I t&w with oj and then eat a small meal 30-45 after

So..sometimes I give a small bump at this time if my dose is falling flat. Do you forego bumps or is there a way to bump with a little extra k if needed and THEN the handful of nuts or whatever 30 minutes after that?

I never bump. Chaulk it up to an off burn. Once I start chasing doses it throws me off my very regimented schedule and will increase the likelihood of poor burns for the rest of the day

I used to bump, but found out it doesn't work as intended.

What about staggering or stacking doses..say where you take as per Kelley, ⅔ of your dose and 30 minutes later the remaining ⅓?

I barely eat food, and I dose when the pain starts creeping back.

And that, my friends, is the most useless contribution to the conversation that could ever be provided. It's true though. I have no appetite. None. Nothing. I eat when I feel weird. I am not sure if it is because I am eating a fair amount of kratom all day, or if kratom has an impact on hunger...

I don't think so, though. I'm coming up to my 10 year kratom anniversary and I used to eat everything that wasn't nailed down. I tried to time my doses for morning, noon and night but my body has since developed it's own voice and tells me when it's time for another dose. The best way I could describe my schedule is...chaotic. I expect to learn something here! I know there are pros at the game, but over time, pain changes. Mine doesn't get better, and so I've kept my doses the same but the legs are shorter than they used to be

If I take it on an empty stomach though, especially when I should have eaten something, kratom that some might define as mid-spec or slow feels much faster to me. I don't recommend this, but eating has become something I have to do and not something that relates to actual hunger.

Oh, and when you don't eat as much as you should, and you have iron problems, poo gets really weird. Like, once every three days and in bulk format. Always after the first dose of the day. Sorry. I saw that part and I just had to add the once every three day morning poo in bulk dropoff story. I blame my iron pills.

Dose 1. First thing in the AM - 3g (threshold dose) Barely feel it - subtle energy and mood lift.
Immediately after is the daily BM.
Dose 2 - 9 hours later after work. 4 - 4.2g (best burn, almost always hits) Snack after 1.5 hours.
Dose 3 - 4 hours later, after intense cardio. Same as previous dose. (usually doesn't "hit" per se, but gives heavy sedative effects and gets me warm and comfy, ready to watch a show or read and wind down for bed) Dinner an hour or so after this dose, then bed an hour or so after that.

Since someone mentioned my name <g> as well as the idea of staggering your dose (2/3 and then 1/3) I will say that my new favorite thing is to eat a square of dark chocolate with a tablespoon of peanut butter about an hour after I dose (capsules so YMMV). This seems to turbocharge things like nothing I've ever tried - almost as if I'm doubling my dose, and it stays active far longer as well. Yesterday I took some good green that was hitting and then I tried my treat and it was just as if I had DOUBLE my dose right then and there. Plus it lasted for six hours (normally around three). So this is what I'm dialed in to doing.

So what I would suggest is if you take your dose and it DOESN'T hit try to eat a very fatty snack (the one I'm doing is about 24 grams total fat - you can get there with other ways if it doesn't sound good to you, but I will tell you that treat is the BEST thing I've ever tasted. Use a very good chocolate bar, just one ounce, and a tablespoon of great P butter).

Take less and stay hydrated and eat at the right times also cycle through strains and vendors if you can that also helps and the less goes along way saying is Hella true I've went through this myself until I cut my die down and started rotating vendors and types depending on what time of day it is.

this isn't meant at all to be dismissive of advice given here, but one thing i'm learning is how subjective the effects of kratom are, and how various ancillary practices work for some and not for others.

for instance, i find absolutely zero correlation between whether i am constipated or not and the effects of a dose, very little difference if i eat somewhat after a dose (though if I do, i find that a large meal will dull the effects). and i don't find any correlation with how well i'm hydrated, and how well the kratom works (maybe because i'm generally well hydrated - don't know)

One bit of great advice that i've found here is to try small doses. Even though i thought that my tolerance was very high, I am finding that 1.5g is my sweet spot. bigger doses, and 'bumping' a dose really doesn't seem to help (though sometimes if i experiment with a very low dose, like 1g, a little bump will work.

What i have gravitated to is 1.5g, and i try to space them 3 hours apart. Trying to taper by gradually increasing that gap. The hard part is later in the day, when i feel less and less of an effect, and have to battle with the urge to increase the amounts. Which really doesn't work well.

I do find that changing the strains from day to day and burn to burn is helpful, but i need no encouragement to do that since i have purchased from so many vendors of late. it's actually fun to try stuff that i haven't used in a few days.

I think it's reasonable to assume your later day doses are less effective because they're coming too quickly on the heels of your earlier doses. So if you're dosing every 3 hours, your receptors are tired by then. (I don't know if saying they're in a refractory state is accurate but it sure feels like one.) That's why increasing the dose won't work on pooped receptors. Like poking a dead horse. So maybe, if your afternoon dose is the most important one, come to it after a longer down time, which it sounds like you're trying to do.
That's great news about the smaller doses working for you.
