Small batch?

Is it really small batch?
I feel like we should just refer to it as “fresh kratom”
to distinguish it from the so called “bulk vendors”
I know that it’s fresher when we buy from places we refer to as small batch vendors, but i have to believe that often, it’s just a small batch because that’s what our vendor has purchased from a bigger batch/harvest.
I don’t know a lot about any of this because I can only go by what i hear, since i have never been over in Indo. If anyone feels they understand this concept better, feel free to chime in, and help us understand.
I don’t have a lot to say here cause I really don’t know the truth , but I want this to be a springboard where those that know can learn us!

Have you read this thread from Gumbyke? Might not exactly answer the question but I would guess it’s a mixed bag. Some vendors have direct relationships with farming operations but most deal with the supplier middleman. Without naming names, I trust that the most popular vendors on this forum are able to get “small batch” - but then what is the cutoff for small batch? 300-600kg? Less?

I consider small batch to be vendors who import smaller amounts but are more adamant about quality and curating menus. Bulk vendors would be the ones who just buy as much as they can as cheap as they can from any source. There’s obviously MUCH more nuance to it and many shades of grey… but that’s my simple understanding.

Yes I agree with Humble: "Small Batch" has become a marketing term, and for all practical purpose... IS now RARE, or nearly non-existent

- DUE to changes in
Indonesia Law - 3 months ago. Please Read below, article from DTE's website - which he's graciously written to provide an update.
Bottom Line =
USA "Big Kratom", the AKA - along WITH the Indonesia Government - has moved to control the Industry "Supply Chain"

and force all Buyers/ Sellers... including ALL independent suppliers & farmers... and USA small vendors... to operate ONLY through new
Regulations.
- My Opinion ? Small vendors with a long established history , may be OK - But clearly the entire business is moving away from "Raw materials", what AKA calls Plain Leaf kratom.
What’s going on with Indonesia? - On October 10th, 2024, the Indonesia government officially regulated our beloved plant Kratom. There’s been so much misinformation spreading - and also legitimate information mixed in, - so I’ve seen a lot of confusion as to what exactly is happening right now. So I wanted to take some time and type out a brief synopsis of what all is going on in Indonesia. The good, bad, and unknown!- Read FULL ARTICLE on
