I see this term mentioned regularly and I'm not at all sure of what it means.

pretty much, Mythology,.. A "talking point" used by vendors... in attempt to create interest... & Sell sell sell, more Plain Leaf... The word SPEC, short for Specification - would suggest that it's based on some factual data ? some physical property ? - such as: Alkaloid content, or, maybe "Genotype" or other Science factor... ?? But NO. Like most things Kratom, it's simply a Descriptive Term, based ONLY on "personal opinion" ... and we know, opinions are like, uhh well everyone's got one!~ 😅

It's SUPPOSED to represent, whether or not... A particular "Strain" (which are fake, right ?) has a - Property or attribute ⚡ - for Effects being either "Fast", or "Slow", or In-between "Middle" (Mid Spec). BUT, there's absolutely NO chemical property or Lab Test to indicate those Effects... ? And it's been observed that - Effects align with Dose. The MORE you consume, the more "Slow", sleepy or sedated you FEEL

Bottom Line ? Like "Strains", the "Spec" means very little - For a substance that is typically, NOT - Lab Tested for potency!... And kratom consumers, have accepted an Herbal Product that's sold with NO Standardization :o ... unlike MOST herbs sold in stores which ARE fully Lab Tested & "Standardized" for content 💚

Strains are sometimes considered to be fast (stimulating) or slow (relaxing) and mid-spec means it falls somewhere in the middle. Not too fast, not too slow.

Basically a term made up. At best it can represent what a average customer would expect with average/serving sized recommendation usage feel.

The problem is alot of people use different amounts of powder which if you say its fast spec but someone uses way to much, it will put them into sedation or make them feel sick and they will complain.
If the use to little it might give no effects and they will say it did nothing and they feel like they didn't take kratom.

Then you have the different brain chemistry. There are people that i call opposites because the effects are actually reversed where something that relaxes most people gives someone too much energy and vise versa.
Which is the same reason doctors typically have multiple types of pills to give a patient to treat the same symptom because one might work or might not but after trying a few the patient will find that will work. Guessing game.
