For the sake of transparency, let me lay my cards out here. I’m still debating how to handle 7oh as it relates to the forum. It’s causing a lot of arguments and any decision I make is a lose-lose situation for me. No matter what decision I make (ban talk or allow talk), it’s going to upset people. It’s going to make people leave. Therefore, I’m in a watch and wait mindset right now because sometimes that’s really the only way to make the best possible decision.

I get PMs and emails daily from both sides of the aisle. There is simply no good solution I can think of other than to give 7oh its own subforum. That’s the current line of thinking. I’m just asking everyone to be patient with me while I figure out a permanent solution and also asking people to please be civil in the meantime. I have a stressful upcoming surgery so there will be no overnight decisions being made. We have time to figure this out together as a community.

If anyone has any suggestions at all, I’m all ears. You can reply here or if you’d rather discuss privately, you can PM or email me.

I am sure that this forum is important to you but sanity is paramount!

You should have a subforum for 7OH, like Kava, and let it grow dust. It is simply a link that one can choose not to click. That is what makes the most sense to me. It is hard to deny people information. The question of our time!

Haha I sent you a PM about 2 minutes ago before I saw your post suggesting this very thing.

Watch and wait is my mindset for this product as well. My personal hope is that all the vendors who offer it do so without fanfare, and prominently mention the issue of it being prone to instilling a tolerance, and that it should be rotated with regular leaf.
Lol, I won't have to suggest that they price it high, and so the invisible hand of the marketplace should help regulate its usage.
Lots of other products go well with Kratom and could be perceived as boosting its effects. A tablespoon of magnesium citrate here and there is both very affordable and very effective at keeping one's nerves untangled. And of course it can help in keeping the plumbing moving. Theanine is another good supplement. 200 MG. spooned out with your morning coffee or tea can help start your day smoothly. And so on.

Sub forum sounds good - I had already made up my mind not to post any separate topics on it here (and only respond to the idiocy of others in other threads).

However - I will warn you. As Mr. B thinks, I'm pretty sure 7oh is the future. You will see less and less folks using kratom and more people interested in these alternatives. Don't make the mistake of thinking this is kava (I won't be alive, but I could very well see a future where this forum is *mostly* 7oh and other such extracts).

I agree with making a subforum for 7oh, just like there's one for kava. I don't think that banning people about talking about it is the move, as people might go elsewhere. I also think that it's important for people to learn and ask questions about it. Theres been times where i open up doublem and all I see is 7oh posts and I'll have to scroll to find the posts only talking about kratom.

Hey everyone, thank you for all the feedback so far. It's looking like the general consensus is leaning towards a new subforum for 7oh and other spinoffs of kratom. That's most likely what we will do in the near future.

Thank you, I will let you know when I have a date! I'm putting it off as long as I can due to the nature of the surgery, but it will probably be this fall.

I agree we have TIME, to figure out where the Kratom Industry is going... and what "changes" should be reflected here on Double MM

FACT - Kratom - the "product" and the "industry" ... HAS changed, evolved, expanded... We NOW have: More Variety, range, diversity, assortment, AND "combo" products.

IMO there's no "Going Back" to the bad ole' days (Salmonella), with ONLY Raw Kratom available... very FEW Herbal Extract products - 5 years ago, the Extract selection was terrible!

Full Disclosure ("True Confession" lol!) I Personally, DO NOT currently and "Almost Never" consume... ANY Raw Kratom!! For 5+ Years now, the ONLY kratom I consume is, "Red Bubble Tea"... ALWAYS "Prep my Powder" by BOILING water and Sanitizing my Raw kratom - I have suggested, and recommended that... Many many times here. Over the years!!

But, "Each to his Own" ... Has been the Standard, and the Culture, of THIS Forum - since the beginning. Some people EAT Raw kratom in "Caps" (I think weird, but understandable.) Some people "Toss and Wash" ( Horrible practice !!), others make various LIQUID Tea - which IS - an "Extract" - while others, DO enjoy commercial Extracts available... including the NEW 7Oh extracts.

My Point being - 7Oh IS a Kratom product... IF the "direction" and momentum, IS "common ground" - THEN - seems silly to Divide up the Forum ?

A subforum is a good idea. Will be easier to manage if 7oh winds up being totally banned, which I hope doesn't happen. I gave up leaf a year ago after stomach surgery and now only use 7oh.

E_poison, I know this forum is your "baby" but don't stress out too much about this decision. Most people, especially the ones that have been here since day one, will support you no matter what.

Thank you! I'm following the news about the potential 7oh ban so creating a subforum may not even be necessary at this point. I'll see how this plays out in the coming weeks.

I tried using 7oh recreationally at low doses (7.5mg) and that usually lead to making bad decisions and taking more, having respiratory problems during sleeping, possibly creeping toward opiate level OD danger. So not for recreation just like other pain pills for me.

I also just broke my ankle, and with a killer type of RLS, it's hard to sleep. The 7.5mg works wonders, just take the quarter pill and lie down, all the minor pain, aches, nerve zaps, feeling the need to stand up and walk around (hop around, really) get quashed. No desire to take more.

Not sure what position to take, as sometimes regular, non enhanced leaf will do the trick, but the extract is always a bullseye. Possibly a behind the counter low level regulation? Dunno.

yeah, was prescribed a machine for it, turned out to utilize a part which was cancer causing, advised to stop using it, was not prescribed a new one, still under Dr.'s care. Thanks for mentioning, lotta people slip through the cracks with this one.

I heard about that cancer causing recall. I use Resmed Airsense 10 and recommend it for sure. Parts are expensive and it’s a pain to clean every day, but I sleep sooooo much better. Been using it for 2 years now.

Can you imagine if the cannabis community treated 11 hydroxy THC like 7-oh is being treated by some people in the kratom community? Bongs Save!!! Gummies KILL!!!

I with you too. I am generally quite opposed to it; but I have information others may not have, and mostly worry anbout how it gives the entire plant a bad rep. There are definitely MANY predatory companies who sell it and market it a certain way that is not very innocent. But just not allowing people to speak about it doesn’t make sense either. Civil discussion in a sub forum to not crowd the rest of the spaces makes most sense to me!

Can you share how it was bad for you? I'm very unfamiliar with it other than hearing it can be very addictive. I had decided not to even mess with the chances of that... b u t I haven't been having very good luck with regular leaf providing relief for a while now and thinking about trying it. are there any respectable vendors that sell it? since we switched to (mostly) just DTE a couple of years ago I've haven't been very active in the community.

Primarily using only one vendor could be your problem. It’s not only important to rotate different batches frequently but also to use multiple vendors. I know that sounds strange but it works.
