My broken ankle needs some first aid; would a dose around 5g be effective at beating mild swelling?

Couldn't hurt, lol. Boswellia/Frankincense is an antiflammatory with a rep going back thousands of years. I still have some powdered extract of it lying around. And now I have 500 mg. less of it. 8-)

Unfortunately kratom isn’t an anti-inflammatory. You should try ibuprofen. Hope it feels better soon! How did you break it?

Try supplementing Vitamin D3+K2. Should help bone growth healing. Also Cissus is insane for boosting it as well. Check pubmed studies. Get well soon!

Now there's a name I haven't heard in a while ha-ha. It seemed eh, about on par with a dollar store aspirin when I tried it years ago.

Ha, yeah, it has a history that goes back to the times of the Old Republic. ;)

Science aside, and sticking to the point, it's not seen as offering miraculous relief but it generally comes without stomach upset or other side-effects.

Many plant components from Boswellia are used to treat chronic diseases with comparatively few side effects

thanks for the replies. apparently, and i read this like twenty years ago when my legs got broken, ibuprofen retards bone growth, so sticking with tylenol for now.

Just had a doc visit with the ortho and he said things were progressing very well, no need at all for the aerocast boot unless I feel like I want a little extra support (previously the PT nurse said I could mostly do w/out it, about the same thing, but with more caution).

I'm surprised by how little it hurt, but injuries inside the body hurt in a different way than surface pain, which is really sore. Internal injuries are like...YOW...then shock and the sensation subsides. Scariest thing was the loud *crack* when the ankle split *shudders.*

I'm sure many here have gone through similar and hopefully come out on top.

Turmeric Extract (95% Curcuminoids) Powder <----The 'neon orange' powder, that worked a bit better for (me) mild pains/aches. It costs a little more, and it stains everything it touches. But I would recommend trying it unless you have some kind of allergy to turmeric. :) Anecdotally, as most everything is, the curcumin also seemed to give me a little extra energy most times as well. Other than the absolute messes it can make, it's probably the best herbal type of supplement I found other than kratom. I got/get all my herbal powders from Bulk Supplements, no idea about other brands/sources.

Put a comfrey poultice on it 2 or 3xs a day. It will heal much faster. Another name for comfrey is knit bone.

I feel your pain. I don't know if I've ever gotten pain relief from k, maybe k chocolate?
Get a red light device. I use Nuve/DPL devices, you can get them on ebay.

Drs and PT therapist shocked at how my ankle has healed so quickly with not much pain. Kratom most def reduces swelling and inflammation and mobility; I'm using 3g and it lasts for a few hours, even if I don't get much mood boost (depends on batch). Not ready to jog or run yet, and balance is still an issue, but I can walk about a mile in slippers. Good to get my dog some exercise too, she got a little chunky during these months I couldn't walk her.
