I was experimenting with my extensive collection of strains & most of them either never had any pizzazz or lost it. My collection is huge so that's a lot of wasted inventory. There's been a lot of talk about kratom not being as great as it used to be. I agree. But if you have any of that first version of Blast Off Bali, you can resurrect almost all of it.

I started blending my duds to see what happens. All except one blend failed. I found that 1/8 to 1/4 gram of Blast Off Bali blended with 1g to 2g turned all my dud strains into monsters. I found that strange because I never really liked BoB. I don't like white strains - too much zip. Even so, years back I decided to buy a lot. I'm so glad I did. Wow! So if you have any of this old TFH Classic & have some dud strains, by all means give this a shot.

I've found that another White that adds zing to so-so (or even good) batches is Otie's White Elephant.

I haven't tried it in a couple of years, because I've had such good luck with TFH unblended, and I don't know for sure if current Otie's White Elephant is as good for blending as it was then - but at the time it was excellent, really gave reds or even greens a good boost. 😁

Years ago I put together 10 Reasons - that TFH Kratom is different (and better!) than any other vendor... That List is somewhere on MM. Ten objective things that are unique to TFH, like - Time involved in Kratom biz, supplier connections, the Sample testing, Standards, etc. They go through lots of samples... It would be very expensive to Lab Test 'em all... I know he does Lab Test, at least microbials & metals, probably pesticides? solvents? never seen a Potency test. :ugeek:

I think the overall market has changed over 2 years, the explosion of Mit% extracts, & Advanced Alkaloid products... We now have proven tested, All strengths, everything from powders, tablets, gummies, even Mit Seltzer soda - and probably even Kratom halloween candy βš‘πŸ’€πŸ’š

Oohhh I've got some of that too!

After seeing your comment about the Baik Bali from TFH I've been traying it with this and that. It works great with the Crown Jewel Sumpur. I tried it with one thing that I can't remember what it was now and didn't like it at all.

This evening I mixed it with the old KTC Yellow Borneo from years ago which is good on its own and WOW OMG.

I don't know if you mis-typed... it wasn't Baik Bali, it was Blast Off Bali. I just blended 1/16 g of it with 3/4g 30 Year Wild Jade Reserve. Mercy! It's mind-blowing!

I have a theory about this. There's somewhere around 26 different alkaloids in kratom, not just mitragynine. I've found that strains high in mitragynine aren't particularly pleasant nor memorable for me. Sometimes I really don't like them! Others have speculated about the other alkaloids' interactions with mitragynine or our biochemistry, & the effects we enjoy may depend more heavily on those interactions than we know. And here, it seems, a strong white strain is adding a huge effect to other strains, red & green is somewhat irrelevant. There's one newer vendor to me that brags about their high mit levels & I absolutely hate every single strain of theirs I've tried. It makes me feel like electricity is flowing through my skin. I still have a lot more old strains to try this blending on & hopefully gain some useful understanding.

Not all whites are fast. Midspec whites can be very potent and very enjoyable. TFH has the best midspec whites, Chris does them well. There was a wild crafted white tfh that was one of the best batches I've ever had, the last top shelf wmd was phenomenal as well. (It didn't last long after word got out.) Also, I find that blending "duds" gives the best blends, I rarely blend a batch that hits well, doesn't work for me personally. But sometimes dud + dud = face melter....more often than not.

I mixed som White Elephant with TFH's recent 30 Year Wild Jade Reserve and WOW. It went from fine to OMG. Just about a quarter gram of the Elephant.

I haven't had Otie's white elephant, nor have I been much of a mixer, but this morning I had some DTE pink panther and TFH crown jewel, and I took a mile and a half walk with Sihaya, had a cold coffee when we got home, and had a great uplifting feeling.

Also got some items in the mail, which further elevated my mood.

Happy aloha hump day, just a few more days till the weekend!

WOOOHOOOO! Great to hear that! Gonna try it myself - I'm with you, the Wild Jade Reserve isn't bad, but it's amazing how some blends make "good" batches spectacular!

I may just take it for a spin tomorrow! 😎 I wonder if the same blend will be as good on a second try a bit down the road?

Cool! It's nice to have other options & I have a kilo of Baik Bali for when I run out of BoB. Is phatcracker still around? He was the king of blends if I remember correctly. Bless his soul...

Here's an important update. Like a lot of us on this forum, I use kratom for pain relief. I've got a knee that's had several operations & injections & when it hurts, it's excruciating. For the last 11 months I've been basically immobile. In an emergency I can walk about 20 feet. My doctor cut off my allocation of steroids last January, which were my godsend, giving me near normal mobility. Because of certain medical issues, I cannot take NSAIDS & I stopped taking opiates because I didn't like what they were doing to my life - I was taking 4 dilaudid pills per day 10 years ago. It was a nightmare. 2 days ago I discovered that 1 dose of my BoB/Traditional Red Dayak completely stops all my pain for TWELVE HOURS! This morning I tried BoB with Jolly Red Giant (yes, I'm a TFH fan). I'm sitting here without any pain whatsoever. This is an outstanding level of pain relief. I won't compare it with other pain relievers so as not to inflame the anti-natural pain reliever crowd. Banning kratom is a real possibility & I really hope that movement fails.

Upon hearing HH's success with Baik Bali Especiale, which never had any effect on me, I decided to try blending 1/2g with 1.5g Creme de la Bali, another dud strain for me. 30 minutes into it... I'm rapidly going comatose... just a bit of exaggeration, but not a lot. Wow. My face feels numb. Thank you so much for telling me about Baik Bali. This is making 2025 end on a spectacular note for me. I can tell I'd better reign in my self-discipline or this is going to end badly. Pain killing alternatives that are really effective are like gold for old folks. HH knows. This is the only reason I started using kratom. And I have a large amount of kratom that has no worthwhile effects just sitting in detention in the basement. Now a significant number of those just entered the cherished pile.

Isn't it great how sometimes you can blend two 'just ok' strains or in your case, two duds, and end up with something wonderful! What a gift!

I find that it doesn’t matter what vendor I go through, the effects are all rather mid .. I can literally buy smoke shop Kratom and it hits about as well as tested powder from reputable vendors .. so I just go cheap these days

What smoke shop kratom is cheaper than online vendors?

I mean a 125 bag is like 10-15 bucks when you buy a kilo, smoke shops have kratom marked up way more than that. They try to get like $50 for a 125.
