Tolerance after Sickness
I’ve been a daily Kratom user for about 10 years, so I’m pretty familiar with the normal ups and downs of tolerance. But something really strange has happened, and I’m trying to figure out if anyone else has experienced anything similar.
Back in the first week of October, I got really sick—pretty sure it was either the flu or COVID. Whatever it was, it knocked me out hard and I ended up being sick until mid-November. During that time I was on multiple antibiotics and steroids, and honestly felt pretty awful for weeks.
Here’s the weird part: ever since I recovered, my Kratom tolerance has been completely out of whack. I’ve had tolerance issues before, but never anything this bad or this long-lasting. It’s like my body doesn’t respond the way it used to, and the reset I expected after being so sick never really happened. Instead it feels like something shifted, and I can’t tell whether it’s the illness, the medications, or something else entirely.
Has anyone else had their tolerance get messed up after a long sickness or taking antibiotics/steroids? Did it eventually go back to normal? Any advice to speed up the process? I’d love to hear if this is something others have dealt with, because right now it feels totally unlike anything I’ve experienced in the past decade.
Thanks in advance for any insight.

I'm sorry you ran I to this.
Were you on Augmentin by chance?
What specifically are you experiencing that is unusual?

Augmentin, K-Flex, and Doxycycline were the antibiotics I was on. Prednisone was the steroid. I’m just not really getting anything at all from my doses. Some of the best strains will feel like they are starting to come on, and then just die out. I’m trying to add some supplements and things I’ve read help with tolerance but still struggling to get back to normal burns.
