Gaia Ethnobotanical Crypto Rebate Scam

I'd just like to give everyone a heads up that the 20% rebate offered by Gaia Ethnobotanical is a scam. You are supposed to get 20% of the purchase refunded back to you after the order is completed. I never received the rebate and when I contacted Gaia about it, they claimed the 20% actually goes to "fees" from the crypto payment processor, not back to the purchaser. In no part of the entire purchase process are any fees mentioned. This is an absolute scam to get you to pay with crypto currency. If they have so little respect for the customer that they are willing to scam them for crypto, can you have any trust in them to provide a safe product?

I don't use crypto, however was about to jump on the bandwagon last year - then everything went haywire. In a nutshell - the market went crazy volatile, and Transaction Fees sky rocketed, around December. Fuck that.

Well, apparently the Transaction Fee Crisis is over, according to this good article... So, why is Gaia pulling a weird scam over fees? Beats me, I'm still not using crypto after all the bullshit past 6 months. And I'm no longer interested in buying kratom from Gaia... they're too big, too much involved in shady Retail products, and too many complaints about their quality.

I don't normally use crypto, but with credit card purchases being down I figured I'd give it a shot. I wasn't going to do an Echeck purchase as there is almost zero fraud protection if my checking information was stolen. The 20% was enticing as it more than covered the purchase fee for getting the exact amount of currency I needed and should have saved me a good amount on the purchase.

I don't mind fees as long as there is 100% transparency. Nowhere on their website or during the checkout process was anything even close to what they responded in their email. I posted their response to Gaia's blog to let everyone know what would happen. It was immediately deleted. Clearly, they don't want their scam exposed.

It's a shame too as their prices are some of the most reasonable out there. I have zero trust in their product now.
