Questions about avoiding dependence/withdrawal

Post by KurtisCards »

My wife is working on quitting drinking, and i finally got her to try kratom to try and help with cravings and anxiety associated with stopping alcohol consumption. I dont want her to become dependent or experience withdrawal, so what dosing size and regimen is good to avoid that? Currently she has just done 2g once at night about 3 nights this week.

Would it be safe to say use 2g every other day? Just would be used at night as a replacement for alcohol pretty much.

Hoping kratom can do for what it did for me and kill my desire to drink.

It definitely depends on her weight and metabolism but in my experience ive never felt withdrawal and i usually try to take a tolerance break for about a week and i would do so about every 3 months, im actually taking a week T-break right now. Anyways, ive been taking kratom for almost 3 years and i normally wud take 7 grams in the morning and 7 at night every day and some days i would dose around lunch but kratom doesnt give me very much effect if i dose on a full stomach. But with kratom less is more. And a tolerance is easy to build up with kratom. If she finds that 2 grams here and there helps then thats good! When i first started i always would hear that 3 grams was the "threshold" dose but remember everyones body works differently. Also kratom is pretty darn safe so if shes not feeling it after an hour or so she could jusf take another gram and base her regimen off of that. But yeah 2 grams every other day is safe though, ive always heard if you take small doses you get an energy effect and if taken in larger doses you get a drowsy effect.(never had it work that way for me tho) ive always just use reds for sleep and whites for morning dosing and greens for anxiety.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Yeah I have never understood the small dose, large dose thing. It all feels the same up to 4 or 5gs then it's just wobbles lol

Thanks for the insight! In all honesty I would much rather have her dependent on kratom than alcohol but, I really don't want her to experience any sort of withdrawal.

Im 45, about 160 lbs. I take 1.5 tsp about two-three times a day. I stopped for up to four days a few times and just had a little bit of anxiety, nothing more. I've read some people go thru terrible WD's but for me it wasn't unpleasant.

Ill tell you what was about a zillion times more unpleasant was quitting sugar. Last week Sunday I decided to do a cleanse and then just eat clean after that. OMG day 4 was just so miserable i felt like i had the flu and fot hit by a truck at the same time, i mean it was awful.

Anyway, that's my personal experience...i guess everyone is different.
