Ohm and mit levels
Wondering what ohm% levels mean, and mit%,,like when you read that strain has higher mit % levels and lower ohm%, I am assuming that mit, which means Mitragyna, is the potency, and ohm%,,what is that? Is one the pain relief and the other sedating effects? ?I am just wondering if lower ohm% is a good thing ,,I'm so confused, lol,,thanks!

Re: Ohm and mit levels
Usually you would want high levels of both. 7-Hydroxymitragynine (7ohm) is more relative to analgesia.
"7-Hydroxymitragynine is an agonist at the μ-opioid receptor[3] with a potency, calculated using pD (2) values, that is 30-fold higher than that of mitragynine and 17-fold higher than that of morphine, respectively" Wikipedia. It is only a partial agonist so this doesn't mean its 17x stronger than morphine which is a full agonist.
Mitragynine(mit) is the most abundant alkaloid in kratom, to my understanding it provides most of the mood boost, energy, and also some analgesia. However these two alkaloid percentages don't always determine if something is 'fire' to you or not. There are over 25 alkaloids and all of them play a role and without a balanced chemistry between these you can have leaf with high mit and 7ohm levels and it not be enjoyable and vice versa.
Here's some info on these other alkaloids that have a much smaller role
