Hi everyone, first post here.. long time kratom user. Something very strange has been happening to me lately and would like to see if anyone else has had this experience

I'm in pain management and get drug tested. I started a new dr 3 months ago and had my first screen a month ago. I DO NOT smoke weed (wish I could, gives me terrible anxiety) and I tested positive for THC. I don't use CBD, nothing. They retook the test via mouth swab: negative, however they said mouth swabs aren't accurate so they are retesting my urine.

They said they saw I took kratom and said this may be the reason?? Lol I HIGHLY doubt it.

Has anyone had this issue? Thanks!!

There are many false positives for THC, one being ibuprofen, but there are many OTC drugs that could cause this. I don’t think kratom would cause that kind of issue though.

Yeah, I didn't think so either. I told them I use a lot of ibuprofen and their reply was "you'd have to use an entire bottle a day", which I know is untrue. They just do not believe me at all that I don't smoke .

I was asked to take a drug test once. The only things in my system for a long time were an antidepressant and a benzo (both of which the Dr. had prescribed himself), so when the test came back positive for amphetamines I was NOT pleased and took another one - which was negative of course.
There wasn't anything that could have triggered a FP; sometimes they just mess up.

Now I'm curious, though. Did you mention that you were using kratom or did THAT show up in your results?

Hmmm...well let me tell ya about PISS test pal...
I lost my job last week because the sample came back diluted? I thought it must be the kratom...
I got sent back for a second test....
Diluted again!?!? So they refused to hire me permanent.

After pondering what went wrong I figured out that it was an ACV supplements i would take every morning...i googled ACV and piss test and it pretty much confirmed it.

Don't take ACV before a urinalysis....

It just showed up in the results. I guess they test for it.

Yeah, I've had that problem in the past too. Was taking ACV and drinking a lot of water back then.

Well, that's kinda..... worrisome. People have come to this forum wondering if their kratom use might be discovered; and yours was indeed discovered

Yeah, most pain management have been testing for kratom for a while now...over a year I'd say?

At first they told me they had no problem with kratom (after the positive THC urine screen)... then after a subsequent NEGATIVE THC mouth swab, they told me it's on the "DEA watch list" and I have to stop taking it. Now waiting on results of a second urine screen since they don't "trust" the negative mouth swab results. Like, damn.. why DO a mouth swab if it doesn't count lol

Does it show on urine tests? in pain management too. I have tried Kratom for a few days. I was wondering if it would flag me?

I take random Coast Guard drug screens pretty often. If someone shows positive on the strip test then they send it to a lab for positive conformation using Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) these will not show a false positive for anything. If you didn’t smoke weed and have been getting your Kratom from a reputable vendor you have nothing to worry about.

There is a service station here that sells it. Honestly I can’t tell it does anything for me, I wish it did so I could get off the pain pills. I go back Wednesday and haven’t had any since Thursday. Thanks for your answer...
