As in putting the powder under your tongue? I once used a liquid extract sublingually before swallowing but didn't notice any difference from just swallowing.

Or do you mean buccally, like dipping tobacco? I once tried that long ago as per a recommendation on reddit... put straight powder in my lip and got zero results. Shoulda seen that one coming. I am ashamed.
But for the record, the kratom was also bad so who knows.

We all know about how people chew the leaves. I think the act of chewing might be necessary. Just leaving leaf or powder in one's mouth might not yield any results.

Sounds like you need to take a break. Switching up routes it administration is not a shortcut around tolerance. Sure, sublingual kratom works, it gets absorbed under the tongue and avoids digestion, but it's not going to make kratom like new again..cut back, take a break...it's the only way

Btw, using chewing tobacco (dip, moist snuff, etc) absorbs fine buccally, but kratom absorbs best by placing under the tongue and adding a slight amount of liquid so it's almost a sludge-like consistency, and leaving it there for 20 minutes or so. It's gross, but some people swear by it.

It's kind of like saying "my oxy isnt working when I take the pill...should I try snorting it?" Snorting it may give quicker results,.but your tolerance will still be there, no way around it. You gotta give your brain receptors time to chill and recuperate

Hi! As Damien ck and others posted, lowering tolerance cannot be done by merely changing method of delivery. Extracts are simply making tolerance more difficult to wean/lower.

There are a LOT of supplements you can use in exchange for some or all of your kratom. Akuamma, skullcap, incarvillea sinensis (I think I misspelled incarv). Do you use kratom to sleep as well? Hope not, but people do. There’s EVEN MORE options for replacing evening kratom. Using kratom to sleep is merely maintaining a higher tolerance. I hate to waste it on snoozing.

Do you get time off wok at all!? Even one day of alternatives can be very effective and helpful. Good luck and thanks for working for the folks who can’t.

Hey, why did you ask...."Do you use kratom to sleep as well?" And then follow it up with "hope not, but some people do."????? It's seems that some members here think that there's no use for kratom at night/for sleep.... Why is that?! I gotta say, I have been a horrible insomniac on and off since my early teens and Kratom is by far the best sleep aid that I have experienced!!! Well, besides RX opiates and such, of course, but that also is a false sense of sleep.... More like a coma! You sleep hard but it's not usually extremely restful sleep IMHO. So, like I said Kratom works the best for me out of the tons of other RX as well as all natural remedies that I have tried over the last almost 25 years. We all have our reasons, uses, and such when it comes to how we prep our leaf, when we indulge, and so on.... How/why is it that some people feel that they can look down on others for their serving sizes, reasons for using, time of day for servings (no less one's own perception of most important serving), or any such thing?!?!

And don't get me wrong Laurie I'm not at all implying that's what you're saying or doing, though, maybe you are?? IDK! Your post really just sparked the thoughts and questions and felt that it would make for some decent discussion possibly. What's everyone think?!?!

Man, I wish Kratom helped me sleep. It’s turned me into even more of an insomniac than I already was. Curious what strains help you sleep the most. And do you dose right before bed or a while beforehand?

It had taken quite awhile to discover a good amount of strains that truly help me sleep, honestly. I typically take my last serving about 1 to 1.5hours before I intend on hopefully getting some sleep. I also usually keep a back up bed time serving of tea pre made so if I can't sleep or wake up middle of the night and can't get back to sleep I have another tea to sip on!!!

Here's a list of my current favorite bedtime burns:
TFH Deep Jungle MD, premium red bali2, classic red MD, red pmd, yellow samarinda, wild crafted heavy red, wild red tfh, 30yr wild tfh
LOE wild fire red, wild fire green, fire red, fire green
Rhino Premium red horn, super Indo, OG SGM
SOSA red Indo, red horn, gold MD, super gold, red Sunday, white Bali, red Malay, yellow Vietnam
Spirit Science premium red plantation, red Bali
Fused Flora red Bali, wild red kapuas, red kapuas, red takengon, ORIGINAL green takengon
Galactic Red Hulu, Red Horn Crushed Leaf
FreshLeaf Red Thai

And there is a ton more I'm sure, as like I said it my most important serving for me personally!!! I have done a lot of searching and sampling to come to the conclusions that I have. Also, keep in mind I do dose a bit heavier for that last bedtime burn!!!

Thank you! This has given me a lot of strains to set my sights on haha.

Since we’ve been talking about tea, have you noticed that having a beneficial effect towards sleep compared to toss and wash?

The benefits specifically at night for me are the much faster and more abrupt onset of tea, my body not having to process all the leaf and alkaloids before effects set in, it doesn't bother my stomach while trying to get to sleep, I can have the back up tea waiting if I feel like I need it, and it doesn't make me nearly as thirsty as consumers the plant matter either. Honestly, the differences with the tea are more general and across the board I'd say rather than solely for night servings..... Meaning; effects are much more smooth/clean feeling, I consistently get enjoyable and helpful burns now, the ease of transporting/storing extra, my stomach is incredibly happy in comparison hahaha, and it's also nice to actually be able to enjoy the taste and not dread drinking it whichever way...

I feel you on the first batch of Green Takengon. It reminds me of a batch of Smiley’s Super Green Malay I got last year. I would love it for about an hour - then, LIGHTS OUT!

Hi @ CarmelloDestino!

Your use total is not of concern. Like me, it’s needing a small dab fairly frequently. Like a kratom patch will be cool someday.

I definitely do hear a bit of exhaustion in your words, and that is not criticism! You are giving others selflessly and it’s wearing you out.

Akuamma is very helpful, but it’s not comparable to kratom. I definitely recommend every kratom enthusiast have some handy. There are alternative options for sleep. That nighttime dependence might be the best way to cut down AND FEEL RESTED cause you’re heading to burn out. You’ll live, but your important work will suffer if you don’t get some kratom free time. I can recommend a bundle of things, including ibuprofen pm! Akuamma is like ibuprofen but more helpful with inflammation AND it can offer new users an opportunity for real rest.

I understand the state of your health. You have to be willing to treat yourself to a break ONE NIGHT ? On weekend ?

I’m sure you will find the right path and I’m around a lot, and so are some extremely knowledgeable, kind and empathetic people on this website.

Best to you and thank you for your service...

Full disclosure back a few years ago I used to dose every night and get crappy sleep. Like the same kind of sleep you get after oxy or hydro through some other stuff like that.
For some reason I just kept at it and over time I became accustomed to taking it at night and now I can't sleep without it. I will literally lay awake for hours tossing and turning window without dosing and then sometimes even have like waking nightmares but taking a dose cures that. It's weird how 1 year you can't possibly stand sleeping on an opioid receptor drug and then the next you especially needed to go to sleep. Kratom is like my Ambien now.
