Good ol Night Sweats

For the past 4 days or so, I've cut my monstrous intake (45gpd) down to 25 to 30gpd in a taper attempt. Going well, but I've had some soaked-through-the-sheets sweating at night. This has happened before but not when I've tried tapering (I don't think). I've heard this happens from too much kratom, but not from tapering. Is it common to get night sweats when cutting back too?

Could be WD?? When is your last serving before bed??

Definitely could be WD. Using a fan will alleviate that without you having to take more kratom in the middle of the night. It's starting to get warm outside so a fan is really a must anyway, unless you want to pay ass for air conditioning

It's possible, but do you live somewhere where it's starting to get hot outside? If so, it may not be related to kratom at all. Could just be the weather. I know personally I sweat a lot at the start of summer until my body gets used to it. But if you've got your A/C on and still sweating through the sheets, it's most likely the taper if you don't normally suffer from night sweats.

Air conditioning is a necessity for me. Fans alone just don't cut it when it's hot and humid. They just blow the hot air around. I can't stand summer. I hate the heat, I hate the humidity, I hate pollen and allergies, I hate everything about it. I honestly don't know why people enjoy this kind of weather. It boggles my mind. I stay inside with my A/C blasting.

I am 100% a winter person and would love to live somewhere where it's cold all year around.

Sweats are a symptom of withdrawal, could be that, most likely is that.

Good job tapering! Keep it going. I'm on a T break too at the moment.

You and me both, E!! 8-) here in the Northwest, it rains a bunch and stays fairly cool.. Natural air conditioning = cloud cover. Love the cloudy skies! Summers get bad for a few weeks here.. can't believe I used to live in Florida. "Air so thick you can chew it" - huge bugs, very little shade.. the entire East Coast is very humid actually.

I was getting Night Sweats bad around 12 gpd.. 20 gpd is abusing the plant imo - Anything over that, you're just getting more constipated?

Thanks for the input. I'm in Southern CA so the humidity isn't it. I have fans in the window at night and it gets down below 70 degrees and low humidity. It might be my cheap sheets, too, because I noticed when my son fell asleep in my bed, his mop of hair was starting to get sweaty too when I checked on him. I'm pretty sure my 10 yr old doesn't use any kratom, so....

Thanks guys! I'll just keep riding it out and maybe try different sheets or blankets.

I also cannot live in humidity. Grew up in Boston, summers were brutal. I prefer the cooler, dryer places. I also sweat easily. Doesn't have to be very hot at all, if I start moving around too much I'll sweat.

I live in Central IL and have been dealing with this problem about six months after starting kratom. If Ballz was sweating at 12 gpd then maybe I (I weigh about 100 lbs.) need to cut back too. Or at least stop taking it close to bed time. It's frustrating as hell. I put a long soft towel over the bottom sheet and we are using two top sheets now so that I don't have to wake up the Mr. when I get up and change. Towels and extra sleeping duds next to the bed are my temp. solution.

Yeah it's strange for sure! I really don't even take leaf before bed. Usually my latest dose is 6 or 7pm and then it's 12 to 13 hours til my next one. But in the next 12 hours during the day, I'd take over 40g, so maybe it's just the body expelling toxins?

I've been using the towel on my pillow too, lol. The fact that my son also sweats in his sleep makes me think it might be genetic....

Just want to point out, a year a go, for a month i went 20 to 25 gram per day, and i sweat every single night... Honestly 40grams as you say will make you sweat a tons. nothing to do with genetics. consume under 10 grams a day and you sweats will go away, and you will see i was right. from now on my max is 10 grams per day and never sweat, cant remember last i did. But i am in shape so maybe that's why, i dunno. I can only assume if someone is weights a lot its a lot worse for them. But make no mistakes, kratom does affect.

Yes.

It happens.
Take less to prevent this from happening.

I cut my intake down and no more sweating for me.

Think of it as your body trying to cleanse your system from 40gpd of leaf!!
Anyhoo,
The bigger the gap from last dose to first dose is important as well. Between each day its good to take a 12-15hr break and this is what Ive been doing personally and I feel great. :P

Less Is More

We should team up. You can take my winters, I'll take your summers and we'll find someone else to take the humidity!

I know Yngwie says "More Is More", but 45gpd is waaaaay too much. You need to cut back on the shredding and take a bluesy dose. 8-)

i think OP is cutting back, he was asking if its common to have sweats from tapering...i take around 15 to 20 g a day, but also have a 12 hr break in between doses each night, no sweats for me...as far as tapering ive never had sweats either during tapering, but i would imagine they would go away as ur body acclimates to less kratom

Lol! Clever reference!

Yeah I know I have to cut back a lot. I had no clue I was developing tolerance at the time, just thought leaf was getting weaker because it's more in demand.

I'm a blues guy as well as an Yngwie fan!

Thanks for pointing out to everyone that im already aware I take too much, hence the taper :D

You're right, I thought it was strange that the sweats happen when I'm taking LESS than I normally do. If I went back up to 45,they'd probably go away, so it's probably a bit of WD. I have a nice 12hr break overnight and I never dose in the middle of the night.

I had to taper down last year to get ready for a medical procedure and I remember the night sweats. Sleeping with towels and extra tshirts near for changing sucks. So it could be that. If your sheets have any synthetic material in them that could also contribute and make it worse. Try 100% cotton sheets so your skin can breathe at night....
