I have talked about this extensively with people, having been on a primarily ketogenic diet myself for a LONG time (15-20 years) has left me very sensitive to any carbs.

Everyone I've spoken with is pretty firm about it being all fiber, but while that is mostly true I know with certainty a high GPD will throw my glycemic response for a loop and fuck with ketosis. Also, the dehydration factor can also prove more impacting on a keto diet which should be considered.

So what I am saying is, while you will never find a definitive answer to the net carbs in kratom- it is safest to assume you're at least putting a dent in you're daily carbohydrate allowance in the same respect you might find with the net carbs in starchier green vegetables if they were dried and powdered .... For instance, dried and powdered kale would prove about a 1/2g net carb per 5g. serving so assuming kratom is a bit starchier than that I'd wager between 1 and 3 net carbs per 5g. kratom..... 18g net carb per 30 grams kratom would be consistent with my experience.

BUT the silver lining is that I'm also relatively certain the net carbs as at least somewhat low glycemic. I can knock myself out of ketosis with an abundance of mixed veggies if there is carrots in the mix and it affects me similarly to that.

^ That's so low as to not worry unless you take 10+ grams multiple times a day though. To stay 'in ketosis' you need to keep it under about 20-25g of carbs a day if I recall ? So 2.5 carbs for a dose of kratom is kind of nothing, again, unless you dose several times a day and/or higher amounts. Just saying, 2-3g isn't really a huge deal for keto. :)

About a year ago I stumbled onto some info. that might help. I wanted to know how long after tossing and washing I should brush my teeth (would it promote cavities, etc, etc, whatever). Instead I landed on a couple of reddit threads where people were discussing kratom and their keto diets. All of the commenters who were on the keto diet and who were keeping track reported that they faithfully used their keto strips while using kratom and that they remained in ketosis while consuming it.
You could search there for yourself, but my curiosity was satisfied. I might also add that, although I do not 'keto' I fast regularly and I know only too well what 'being in ketosis' feels (smells and tastes) like ;). If I wake up and don't have any carbs until evening while still consuming kratom, I usually spend some time in ketosis unintentionally. If nothing else, it seems to be a good metabolism booster as well. Like black coffee, it gives you 'energy' but zero carbs.
