Cancer and Kratom

Hey fam-
I'm curious if anyone here either has Cancer and takes Kratom or knows someone who does.
My best friend is desperate for pain relief. She's on a lot of medications. Some I know should be ok ie Ativan, Adderall, Lexapro, a few different creams. She also does IVG infusions at home once a week.
The other medications are : Hyoscyamine, Odanseteon, Zolpidem, Hyzentra, Carafate, Omneprazole, and Prednisone.
She has Dermatomyositis and is now anemic.
I understand there isn't a lot of research in terms of interactions. And I know even if someone is familiar with these drugs and kratom that everyone reacts differently. But if it's an absolute "no" then we can look for alternatives.
The doctors were barely doing shit for her before the virus. And now they can't be bothered with someone living with a terminal disease.

I’m very sorry she is going through this and my wife had cancer and for a while it had started looking very grim she is cancer free today but with the risk it could come back , my wife refused to take any meds, when it had stars getting real bad she gave in to kratom and it helped her tremendously with her mood and some on the pain, but like I said she wasn’t taken any meds it would have to be her decision if she wants to take leaf it does help with discomfort, chemo and radiation break a person down but is it a cure it’s not , and I in no way saying it will help but it help my wife consult a doctor before well they usually say no herbs so there’s that but your friend is on a lot of meds so she needs to be carful I wish her a lot of luck and positive vibes much love to her she will need someone with her almost all the time for support

So sorry to hear about your friend.

I was diagnosed with Dermatomyositis two years ago (along with Lupus). It's a pretty rare disease and there isn't NEAR enough information about it. In 15 years they'll probably be calling it something else. I don't have cancer (yet, that I know of): but, yes, for some reason cancer seems to accompany this disease in many cases. Owing to my dual diagnosis I have sever joint pain. Thank god kratom helps because my rheumatologist has flat out said "no" to any pain meds.

Is your friend, by chance, on once a week Methotrexate (MTX)? It is basically low-dose chemotherapy. If your friend is on long term prednisone I would suggest she talk to her dr. about that. I'm on the MTX to control inflammation and other symptoms; Prednisone is NOT the best option. MTX is considered the "Gold Standard" for diseases like Dermatomyositis. It isn't a cure, but it keeps my lesions away (and we believe that it helps with the joints). Of course, I am NOT member of the health care industry, so I'm not an expert. I also take Lexapro and Ativan. I've been taking Kratom for a year now and, to my knowledge, there are no problems with interactions. I have labs every three months to check for problems. So that's my windy 2 Cents. I don't take all of the other meds. There may be some mechanism that would contraindicate kratom use, but I don't know of it. But if your friend were MY friend in that much pain I would basically say Fuck It, I'm getting myself a good Red 'Strain' Kratom.

Honestly, I think she's at the fuck it stage. When they diagnosed her, they gave her a few months. It's now been three years.
There is some concern with her smooth muscles. She had GI issues but she was an avid hiker so her lungs are good.
I think tea would be the better option instead of toss and wash etc.

Sadly, she is in Florida and I'm in CT. We all know Florida is a hot mess right now. Otherwise, I could go down and help her. She lives alone with her big silly orange cat, Tig.
I sent her 3 greens to try and 3 reds, from Smiley. Hoping they'll get to her soon and that they will help.

I'm lucky to have her as well!! 5 years ago I went off Suboxone, after taking it for 3 years, cold turkey. I was sick for months. Every day Deb sent me letters, postcards, care packages, and supplements. She was living in Alaska then so getting those things to me wasn't easy. Everyday, she cheered me on.
