Does anyone know how kratom affects serotonin?

Hi Fartblaster;

I have seen some half-assed "studies" but nothing substantial. I should also say up-front that I feel the whole psychiatric industry is mostly a scam and I don't give much credence to the "Serotonin Theory" of "mental illness." Sorry if I sound a bit "dick-ish." I have issues with that "field".

On your Google search bar type in Google scholar. From the selections they give you, select Google Scholar. This puts you into a search of scientific/scholarly research papers. Type in "kratom and serotonin". I didn't find any helpful articles on the first page of results, but you can search through the following pages yourself & maybe find something.

I'm not a doctor, but I don't think kratom will severely interfere with any meds that increase serotonin to the point you'd have to be concerned. Like other have mentioned, there's not a lot of studies in this particular area, so all we have to go on is the word and experience of others. Serotonin sickness is definitely something to watch out for when mixing certain medications, so it's definitely wise to be cautious. I think kratom is relatively mild in that area though.
