I don't remember my first 2 weeks of kratom. I was prescribed benzos for quiting alcohol and browned out for 3 weeks. I started in the midst of this, and I dont remember any effects from it. I do know I spent way too much money on smoke shop kratom.
So when I finally regain consciousness, I started looking into kratom more and read about its potential for addiction. I have been on a long road of recovery. I am an addict. CBD has been the only safe thing for me to use. So I was prepared to quit kratom before it became another problem I had to overcome. I wasn't feeling benefits from it. Just felt drained and shitty if I didn't take it. I thought kratom sucked.

But then i found this place. I learned about less is more, and that Kratom is cheap when you buy the good stuff! My habit went from $13/day to <$2/day! I believe in the 10g a day rule, but am still lowering my dose. Lower doses of quality leaf, and I'm seeing the light now!

What a great plant for me! I feel a little good, and am like yeah I want more! So I give it the gas...but then loose it. This is awesome. You have to respect it if you want to enjoy it. Kratom is very elusive. Anyway this is a mysterious journey. I am having fun! I have spent quite a bit of time on this forum. Thank you everyone!

Awesome story. Congrats. Love hearing people overcoming potential deadly addictions with the help of Kratom. Kratom to me is the same category as marijuana. Both being used for thousands of years by mankind to help with countless issues. Gota love the assist by mother nature

I agree with other commenters. Great to hear you’ve found balance in utilizing Kratom. It is indeed a tricky leaf and as you said, has to be respected. To the journey!

benzodiazepines are awful drugs to come off, kratom really is something special for addicts. If it wasn't for kratom I'd most likely still be spending massive amounts of money on pills(fake pressed ones at that) and dope wasting away putting my life in danger every time I'd use. Since taking kratom I've lost all desire to drink alcohol as well which is interesting. I use to be a really bad binge-drinker myself, if I was drinking alcohol is was till there was nothing left every single time. I have no desire to drink at all anymore the thought of it is dysphoric actually.

I came off an insanely high daily amount of pain pills a day addiction that I was caught up in from age 20 to 25 then I found kratom and it gave me my life back I have a great job now, me and my gf bought a house last year, and life is pretty damn good these days thanks to kratom! I really never though I would be able to totally leave the pills alone completely but now I cant imagine going back. Thank god for the leaf of faith. I would be in the same boat without it buying fake pressed pills off the street and probably die from it bc that is what it all is out there now from what ive heard

By "fake pressed pills" do you mean things like.... Fentanyl? I feel really weird asking this because I don't know anything about street drugs (or a lot of the others)

not OP but to answer your question, Greyfeather, the majority of illegally obtained prescription opiates on the streets are 8 out of 10 times 'fake' pills, pressed with (typically chinese) Fentanyl made to look like a legit pharmaceutical. The other 2 times, its sold by someone with a prescription to very select individuals and will never really circulate the way that ten years ago, maybe 1 out of 300 pills was 'fake'.

Thanks spooky. Last year my Guy had to have a surgical procedure and the anesthesiologist said "I will be using Fentanyl..." and I said "Whaaaahht?!!. Dude, why are you using that?" So apparently they use it in hospitals in very small amounts. But I still thought it was odd .

I can see how a lot of stuff gets across the Mexican border (thanks Border Agents, ), but China? That's a long way.

So is this really the reason for the "accidental overdoses?" Fake pressed pills? Because when it comes to "the war on drugs" and drs. absolutely refusing to prescribe pain meds for people, I don't know what to believe anymore and the press likes to keep us agitated for clicks

The opiate game is a tough one. I was living in Illinois during my addiction, and our heroin began getting laced with fentanyl in 2015. That was when I noticed it, and I was in Peoria, which I heard it came to us from Chicago. I normally would switch back and forth from pain pills and heroin. Thankfully though I was at the end of my road with my drug use and ended up here in Texas now, but the Roxies were pressed, even Xanax bars!! It was wild. Unless you knew someone with a prescription, you couldn’t trust what you were getting. It was stronger, but shorter acting so you needed more and more. I can’t imagine going back into that lifestyle, but it’s always one day, one week, one month at a time.

I like the trusted vendors that I’ve discovered since joining here. It’s much more consistent and safer!

Also doctors would get limited on the pain patients they could have or the patients would have to have drastic cuts of the pain medicine they were receiving. A person I knew, had her Vicodin taken completely away and then they lowered her long acting pain med by half. So I feel for those who truly need the pain meds!!

a massive reason for the accidental deaths from overdose, yes. people having a supplier dry up with real pills, they get fake ones, dont tell their customers to do less and BAM. fentanyl is also cheaper to procure than the full process of making quality heroin, so much of the powdered (and now, west-coast tar) is cut with fentanyl to stretch supply, make up for lost potency....mostly to stretch product. obviously these guys do not have homogenized batches, so there are hot spots in pills and in powders and clumps.

The NATIONAL/state linked prescription database is what has ultimately forced addicts to continue to use dangerously or quit, or get maintenance stuff like suboxone (which is why it is currently a very large cash cow for doctors who haphazardly prescribe this). up until the early 2010's, doctor shopping was flooding the illegal market with PHARMA-controlled quality opiates. every pill the same. wonderfully safer than hoping you didnt sprinkle too much powder (literally impossible to tell) in your brick of garbage mexican dope. The database coincides with doctors being persecuted for over-prescribing much more frequently. MANY docs (esp in florida) lost their practices and licenses. Now, they are actively discouraged to write opiate scripts. It is truly a LAST resort for many and hence many pain management patients randomly getting cut off out of their' doctors fear. Imagine being 35 on oxy for 7 years for a slipped disk you got lifting boxes and all of a sudden a doctor thinks youre TOO young and will not write your script but maybe writes a codeine script. .......now we have a new Street user looking to continue not hurting.

China has previously almost singlehandedly provided the world's illegal Fentanyl supply due to less restriction on chemical production and selling (and also they really just didnt care) cartels would ship massive amounts of Fent or whatever precursors needed. Same with that guy in Canada...massive fentanyl bust who was supplying tons of people. It is quite bad in Canada (got bad there before here in the US)

Never worry about hospitals supplying patients with meds....they give such a small amount. I believe they have almost totally switched to Fent for pain management over a certain level because of the general lack of euphoria. Kills Pain, Might make ya sleep, does not feel like the cloud that morphine often provides folks.

The people on this forum have been an amazing force for many of my frequent decisions. My story is long, complicated and fun!! I will not tell it here, yet.

From proper dosing to legit vendor sourcing and almost always a new thread of someone 'thanking the forum for saving their lives'. I never thought a chat forum would provide me so much joy and information. I find myself wondering the age and occupations and so much more about these people with the silly handles. Also knowing that if I cared to, they would take the time to answer my dumb questions anyway.

Living in Los Angeles (SFV), people are just finally getting their anti-social heads out of their asses. Maybe Norcal friendliness is finally rubbing off on some down here. Either way, I know similar minds exist here at Double M.
