Hey gang, I’m going on a trip for several days in a couple weeks and I can’t lug all my Kratom with me. I was curious about packing/making my favorite strains in capsules. My job sells 00 capsules in our vitamin department and I don’t have a scale. Can’t really have one where I live either, not a good idea. But anyways I was wondering a round about number of how much Kratom fits in each capsule? I googled it online and it said 000 capsules can hold one gram and 00 is .735 grams. Is anyone experienced in this? Or would it be a waste maybe and I’d be better just packing a small amount of my go to strains?

I used to make capsules before I got a scale. Using average 28g sample bags from multiple vendors my math came out to about half a gram per cap, give or take a little.

Caps completely squash all kratom effects for me.

I use 000’s and tamped down as tight as possible they fit .7-.8g

I bought the 00 capsule filling machine. Slick design, works well but can be a bit laborious for a 24 pill result. If you really stamp em down, you can get a fat .7 very equally. I mentioned this to a friend and he said that he just simply uses his hand, firmly grasps the big part and tap, tap, taps at the powder. The force pushes it in. This results in a fairly inconsistent .6, but whatever, right? It also results in a thick green dusted hand and a 2 gram spill just for funsies.

Don't run out and buy the machine, the stuff is so cheap, get your hands dirty. It's usually about 10 good taps to fill a pill. Good luck. I take 2 pills and wait an hour, then another or 2 and I'm usually pretty good. Please comment back if any info seems incorrect. I am still rather new to the game.

Sidenote: 00 size pills are .7 (long end) and .3 (small end). You will only be filling the long ends.

Are you subtracting the weight of the capsule when you weigh them?

No, I am not In fact, I was just going to buy a better, more precise scale. I don't think mine would be any help with a measurement that fine.

yeah I was wondering what I must have been doing wrong

I would use 30 grams of powder to make 48 capsules sized 00 which factors out to .625. To make things easy I would just use them as .50 capsules

Years ago I made a capsule filling machine out of a piece of 3/4" wood and drill bit. I had 100 holes 10x10 and it worked great. Use a credit card to move the powder around and an unsharpened pencil to pack down.

I used to use "The Capsule Filling Machine" back in 2011. But it was so messy and you had to use a card and packing piece. Plus I HATE when they get stuck in your throat. Later I found out about parachuting and I literally used toilet papers for years. Someone told me the other day that some toilet paper has formaldehyde.. I must be full of it. Just found out about blate papes a few weeks ago.. dunno how I could have missed it for so long? Probably because I stopped posting on forums a while back lol. But I'm one of those all or nothing types.

I’ve heard of people doing this, I just hadn’t looked into it until recently. Is there a store that has a capsule filling machine or do u make your own machine? I’m thinking capsules would be a nice change for me & saving a lot of $ not buying them already made right now seems wise.

Any health food store should have one. If you don’t have a health food store near you then Amazon will have everything you need. Also empty capsules are almost always cheaper on Amazon

How long does it take to make a big batch of capsules for a novice? I know it’s a weird ?, but mine took an hour to make a couple hundred, I was extra careful. Any tips or advice is appreciated. Cheers

That’s about how long it used to take me. I don’t think that there is a really quick way to do it. That’s why I quit using them and started using oblates.
