I received a text message this morning from an unknown number it read :

"Due to the immense support received during our covid special, we have concerted to a kilo only shop and are now PERMANENTLY offering kilos for $50 shipped. Everything is packaged at an AKA GMP certified facility. The new farmers we have been working with are consistently testing at >1.8% Mitragynine. Too good to be true? Reply to this text with a name and address and we'll send you a free 1oz sample. KokoKratom.com
Opt-out reply STOP"

My skeptical mind assumes this is either a scam, OR its really crappy leaf. I don't seem to see much consistency in the percentages of mitragynine % when I do order from places that have that marked on their product. But anyway, I thought this was odd. I searched the forum, haven't seen any posts with their name yet. It is a real website, but feels sketch. Or, am I just being too critical? First text add I've received for Kratom....

Never heard of them. That might just be their gimmick, they only sell one size but it's cheap - because they cut out all the other crap, all the extra bags and time to fill 100g and 250g ones, less confusion for customers and whoever fills the orders etc.

That said, try the free sample first, trust but verify ? ha-ha.

haha for sure, however, I'm still hesitant about texting my address if they already have my phone number. If I saw a review about them and knew they were a real vendor for a while, I'd go for it. Guess I'm being too cautious.

That is just too weird. I'd stick with known vendors, myself.

What if it's Storage Locker Kratom Guy?

Their website is pretty nice. $50 kilos and $80 capsule kilos seems too good to be true, but maybe they're trying out a new business model.

Sounds like your phone number is probably on some kind of marketing list being sold to vendors. Buy from any shady vendors in the past? I wouldn't be surprised if some of them keep customer info and then sell it off later. Mailing lists with targeted buyers are big business in every industry.

Koko Kratom I never got a txt from them. I found them well looking up reviews to find a new Kratom vendor. I have been using Kratom for years. Although this place has little reviews it is BRILLIANT the price is right. It's $ 50 a kilo. There is no need for ridiculous prices. All these other sites are just crazy for what there trying to charge for it. This is fresh clean and pure. It also doesn't come loose which has always seemed odd to me it's sent vacuum sealed and comes with a resealable bag to put it in. I can not say enough great things about this place. Side note stay away from Yokratom there are the worst

There's been a history of some shady vendors selling your personal information like phone numbers/emails to other "vendors" I would be very leery to order from these people.

Koko doesn't sound quite oK to me. Fraud routinely baits human conditions like wishful thinking, greed and basically any emotional state that can over ride critical thinking and reason.
Interaction on the web is risky enough, even when it doesn't ring those bells that have you questioning.
To make it easier- avoid anything that makes you pause and start listing questions. You apparently did not join a permission based koko SMS "mailing list" so someone is imposing on your message inbox. nuff said.

just cause they're imposing doesn't mean their kratom isn't legit. but it probably isn't, lol.

If they sent me that text, I would take them up on their offer. It's free, right? Your phone number/email gets sold and shared in all sorts of ways by all sorts of companies, even ones that are household names that most people would say they "trust" will "sell" your phone number to other entities that decide how they want to use it. I used to work as a telephone survey taker (almost like telemarketing) and people would always wonder how their name got on a list and often times swear that they haven't given their number out to anyone. Something as innocuous as signing up for offers at Walgreens or a newsletter somewhere can result in finding yourself on a list, it's kind of hard to not let your number get out there. I don't think it should be considered that malicious. On par with getting a call from a wrong number or a spam email in your inbox - sort of annoying, but not sinister.
