Switched from juice to water
Hey all, new here. Glad to be here (already getting better leaf at better prices.)
When I first started kratom, it was under the guise of being gross and needing to be masked to consume. I drank my leaf with juice in a blender bottle. This turned into consuming anywhere from maybe 80-120 grams of sugar a day, just from kratom intake (3 10ish oz juice servings). I was also spending more money on juice than I care to. About 2 months ago, I happened to dose with water and found it more palatable than with juice. 2 months later I am feeling much better without the excess sugar and have trimmed a bit of baby fat. Point being, if you were introduced to kratom in a similar manner I was, give it a try with water, you may be pleasantly surprised! I now also enjoy picking apart the subtle taste differences between strains like a fine spirit. Maybe one day I will be able to “taste” what strains usually hit for me before they kick in?
Side note: In the morning, I pack 2 blender bottles with leaf and water for work. So previously my leaf would sit for hours in orange, cranberry, apple (acidic) juices. Since switching to water I have noticed no difference in potency.

Re: Switched from juice to water
I can relate, I always have to have juice. It gets annoying, sometimes I need to make a store run for juice only. I have found that sunny d and other "juice" (only 5-10% actual juice) have about half the sugar of actual oj. I'd like to switch to water but the taste is so bad. I definitely think it contributes to weight gain too.

Use water enhancers like Mio, crush, kool-aid. Simply put a drop in 8oz water for a no calorie/no sugar drink.

Cool advice
I never used juice but I had tried adding it to some kind of sweet-tasting tea once and it was awful! So bitter and acidic, haha.
Like you, I can tell the differences in taste between different batches using it in water
though I admit some I still have to just take like medicine.

I've used Mio in a pinch, but I still prefer orange juice. The mix-it-yourself frozen tubes keep the cost down, but the sugar content is just the price I'll havta keep paying for better tasting kratom drinks ha-ha.

I like mio, mainly the energy ones, but it's the consistency of juice that really seems to help with kratom. Mio and water doesn't cut it for me, but aside from kratom it is a good way to drink caffeine as opposed to any soda

I take it with a 'shot' of OJ, and have for a few years. My little ritual is to keep the 11oz tropicana bottle, and fill it to about 3oz, add my dose, mix, sit, and swig. I totally agree about the sugar intake, but when I do use water, it always hits me a little different. I wouldn't say weaker, but it has different effects. I think citrus helps its hit faster, I guess I don't have the patience for water lol.

I use a small sunny d bottle and put as little of water as possible and then I put a squirt of strawberry watermelon flavor stuff (HEB brand) and with one swig it's down. You can't even taste it. I used to mix with sunny d until I found this combo

There's nothing really "wrong" to mix it with, just don't try and talk me out of my orange juice ! Oj is the best even without kratom ha-ha

Don’t misunderstand me, I love milk, but if someone mixed their leaf with milk I’d be tempted to call that “wrong” haha.onespeedstop wrote:There's nothing really "wrong" to mix it with, just don't try and talk me out of my orange juice ! Oj is the best even without kratom ha-ha
OJ is glorious, I just felt bad having a glass of plain juice because I’d already had so much just to get leaf in me.

I almost forgot about that....price is the main reason why I choose it. Even better if you can find a similar store brand version of sunny d; I was getting gallons of it for $2 a piece until they stopped carrying it. Sunny d is about $4 a gallon, not bad but it does add up

Re: Switched from juice to water
What I do is put some powdered citric acid in the bottom of a "sparkling ice bottle" and a little warm water, put kratom in. Let that sit about 15 minutes, then fill the bottle up shake, chug, repeat until water is clear. I don't taste anything but lemon juice and anecdotally it works as a natural potentiator.
