This is a thread for advice on tapering and quiting. I am currently trying to make a plan. I take 4 8.5 gram doses per day. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really need to quit. Nothing against or wrong with kratom i just need to quit. No judgment please

When I stopped taking Kratom for a while what I did was I went through and found the most bunk Kratom that I had and I tapered by taking it. It worked wonderfully psychologically bc it made me dislike Kratom and because the alkaloid content was low it allowed me to tape without withdrawal with slight discomfort taking just under my normal dose. Eventually I got so sick and tired of the bunk kratom that I just stopped taking it and was fine. Good luck to you and whatever you decide buddy

So, Total Grams Per Day is over 30? yeah that's a lot, but its very very common...

We hear ppl every day on Social Media, having a problem with too much kratom... there's a big discussion on, How, did we get there. I don't wanna blame just vendors. Complex issue.
Kratom HAS a "Ceiling Effect", for a couple reasons; some of the 40+ alkaloids function as
opioid antagonists, which is like saying you took Naltrexone along with your Oxycodone. Yes. That would not work!! But most people don't know, or don't care, they just start taking more & more kratom. The "Ceiling" means good effects stop, it just stops working... your mµ receptor bucket is completely full. So then... you're only taking kratom to avoid withdrawals. That sucks!
Turns out it's a kind of Balancing Act ~ only doing enough to feel good, and not a single bit more!!

Anyway... decide HOW you want to proceed ~ either taper down slowly, with a little discomfort, over 2-3 weeks... OR, cold turkey and feel kind of sick for a few days. But recover faster. So the question is Time, and your own personal situation/ comfort level.
Another thread started yesterday "Those who use Agmatine to taper", Vipercuda69 wrote a good plan for slowly tapering down over <> 2 weeks.

What You Need: Get yourself some Gabapentin. Knocks out RLS and helps sleep. It's prescription, but cheap and easy to get. Have some other sleep aids like Melatonin, too... OK then, buy some Agmatine Sulfate, and I suggest Black Seed Oil. Research those on Reddit. The BSO is kind of hard to take, but both BSO and Agmatine will help keep withdrawals to a minimum! Finally... Reward yourself, use whatever works, a carrot & stick, a chocolate cookie, or ?? I'd avoid THC but some people find weed helps? Good Luck!

How do you get gab prescribed? Can psychiatrists prescribe it, or is it more of a general practitioner thing?
Make sure to get some Imodium first of all! That's the most helpful thing you can get over the counter. Some people say if you take a huge amount of them, you can get high, but I don't think that's true, and you would destroy your bowels in the process. Just taking 3-4 a day can make you more comfortable and stop the wd shits.
Also, there are some other muscle relaxers that could help RLS and sleep. Robaxin, skelaxin, flexeril, and soma (but I think that's narcotic). There's also some specific rls meds like mirapex and requip. In my opinion, inability to sleep is one of the worst withdrawal symptoms. But then you would also need something to help you during the day. Hopefully you would be able to take a week off from everything and detox, the worst is over in 72 hours, but there's another couple days of lingering symptoms. But then there's the PAWS - post acute withdrawal symptoms.
Look into the "Thomas Recipe." It's a home remedy for opiate withdrawal, but it would work for kratom.
https://www.therecoveryvillage.com/opia ... as-recipe/
I have found it to be very helpful. It recommends methods and supplements to take, it's the best way to withdraw, imo.

it's considered "non narcotic", so any licensed medical doc, can prescribe it.

Psychiatrists write scripts same as Internal Medicine docs! (Psychologists are different from Psychiatrists), we're getting into advice here so really depends on.... many things, insurance, money, who's your Doctor, etc., all I'm saying is Gabapentin should be an easy Rx for anyone with a doctor relationship. But some people don't have a doc, don't have insurance, everyone's different....
OR there's....
All Day Chemist!
oh yeah. I think I bought some boner pills there like 15 years ago?

. Still going strong! Pretty much anything that's not a narcotic or controlled substance (No oxycodone, No steroids, etc) - India is the world's leading country for pharma manufacturing.

Just notice there's a Shipping Discount for New Year!

hmmm... I'm tempted to order: 1- Gabapentin, 2- Memantine, 3- Tadalafil, 4- ?? All totally
Legit. Does anyone wanna split an order? No kidding. They are Legit. Compare prices!
Thanks for that Thomas Recipe link! Pretty good... I'd avoid Klonopin. But I do keep some Xanax on hand! Yes that would be useful for, no more than a couple days.

It should be noted that high doses of Imodium have been linked to heart problems. 3 or 4 would probably help for treating the shits like you said, but trying to take enough to hit the receptors is not a good idea. There have already been some good suggestions. One that I didn't see already is clonidine, helps quite a bit. It can be found at All Day Chemist as Arkamin. One of the best things you can do is exercise, its hard to do but it works to get the dopamines going again. You can also trigger a large dopamine release by getting in the shower and turning it on as cold as you can. The Agmatine is a good idea and I second having some benzos around , but just enough for the first couple days. I've gone through similar a similar transition a bunch of times. I like to get lined out with a bunch of movies and make a nest on the couch for a couple /3 days if I'm not going to taper. Hopefully you can get a day off work and make it a long weekend.

Yes clonidine is one of the best withdrawal drugs out there. Wish it was legal. There are other drugs that lower blood pressure like atenolol and propranolol, but 0.1-0.2mg clonidine can't be beat. And yes, I definitely don't recommend taking a handful of Imodium. I didn't know about the heart problems, but I know it will stop you up for a week and become intensely painful. Exercise is good if you are able, most people don't feel like it, but it's helpful in the post acute phase, and it helps you get some sleep too. I did a lot of swimming when withdrawing off methadone, after a workout was the only time I was able to sleep.

Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide..... This is an iv therapy that speeds up the paws and withdrawal symptoms by 90 percent. You usually have to pay thousands to get it. It is available in vitamin form as NADH.
https://www.sourcenaturals.com/products/GP1108 Also get a multi-vitamin and L-Tyrosine to restart your endorphin system. Walk and stay busy. NAD is A amazing and I've seen people 3 days off methadone and fentanyl patches (prescribed) almost back to normal.....

My advice:
Taper till you’re down to like 8 grams or under. I found the withdrawals very manageable from there after a few years of like 12g a day. I would lower each dose you take by .1 every 3 days. Listen to your body though. You’ll be able to cut faster in the start, you could probably go straight down to 20 but like I said, listen to body.
The supplements I had success with
Vitamins (b complex, c, d)
Amino acid DLPA
Agmatine
Black seed oil
Rhodiola for energy/work (best to take a few days off or start process over weekend)
If you can’t get gabapentin, you could get phenibut, but you shouldn’t take that more than 1-2 a week or the withdrawals from that will make kratom look like a walk in the park. I would buy a sample size and not reorder after you take it through withdrawals. Rhodiola I wouldn’t worry about withdrawal.
Find hobbies to occupy your time, this is the biggest one. Excervise and a healthy diet too, of course.

I'm pretty sure a GP can prescribe clonidine . The last time I did this (pods 4 years ago) they gave me a small script . I've been lucky that both times I consulted with Dr's they were pretty understanding and helpful .

Haha, you're right. I meant over the counter, of course it's legal. I used pods for about six months about 10-11 years ago, and right when I was at my heaviest use, supposedly the farm in Arizona where most of the US's poppies are harvested was raised/shut down. Those were very tough withdrawals.

The All Day Chemist online pharmacy referred to above as a source of medications is listed by a web-based review site as a "rogue business" that isn't licensed nor approved by any government agency & should be treated as a scam. Customers often complain about lost orders that are never replaced & medicines purchased that don't work. Creating an account with them will result in being barraged with spam phone calls & emails.

My doctor put me on Gabapentin about 4 months ago to try & get me off prednisone for my arthritis pain. I can see how it might help with wd symptoms. But if you get some you gotta be real careful to not take anything that makes you drowsy. I made the mistake of taking some Benedryl a little after the Gaba & I was definitely impaired. It was really uncomfortable & according to the warnings I read, could be fatal.
