I have noticed some of my kratom is not sun dried, but smoke dried. I don't know how this affects the quality. Anyone else?

I've not seen this strange it does bring to my mind Black md which taste burnt and does nothing alone for me although many like it for pain,I have found when I mix it with another strain/color it does increase my pain relief.I thought it could have been made smokey burnt tasting from the fires in Indonesia but I don't know this to be yrue.Where are you getting your smoke dried kratom from.

I have never heard of this method before. What an interesting idea.

I'd enjoy any info or personal experiences related to this. At first I thought this would be an "I smoked kratom" post

That's absolutely right Granny. Indo they had terrible fires, in many jungle areas, and some trees got "smoked"... They pick the leaves and wash em' as usual but can't get the smoke flavoring off!

So the kratom literally got burned. Are you still getting good burns from it, aside from the bbq flavor? I don't know if I'd be able to tell if my kratom had that flavor, I never taste it - mix it with sunny d and wash. Is the color or texture affected?

Sometimes the smokiness can come from using fires as part of the drying process. Other times the person processsing it may do a light extraction, which gives it that flavor

Is it common to have fire/smoke dried kratom?

Garuda (Hudson Valley) has (or had) an Oven Dried Green Kratom that had a smokey flavor.
It had a unique flavor and was quite effective for me

Ewww, that sounds hella gross. And potentially unhealthy as smoked meats and other foods contain harmful nitrosamines. No idea if the same is true for plant matter like kratom. But in any case it sounds disgusting.

I've tried smoking kratom (extract) in joints and off foil and the latter was surprisingly effective. I don't recommend it though. I felt like a dope fiend of some sort lol. Was quitting pills and desperate to feel something. No telling how unsafe it was too.

Pretty sure that's never been proven to be the case..

agree, there has been no testing for lung absorption of mitragyna !
