Can Anyone Relate?

Post by Bailah »

Hey guys,

I'm a long time kratomite, consuming aprox. 18-20 gpd. I believe I am noticing a trend, where certain vendor's kratom cause me terrible indigestion, pain and nausea symptoms. The weird thing is that TFH's kratom gives me no issues at all. Is there anyone out there that can relate to this? I'm just trying to make sense of it all.
....
P.s. not sure if this matters, but I have a sleeve gastrectomy and my gallbladder has been removed years ago.

100% difference. Like for example lucky Octane high 2 or the new GMD you have to take 2 grams. Anything over and you will get nausea and a bunch of other issues. All new kratom should not exceed 3 grams. TFH is nice because its very mild type and you can build up on it like 3 grams then 2 more after 1 hour if feeling is not reached. Lots of whites cant be taken a lot of grams as well. Just be aware of that. If you get those symptoms that just means to much and need to back off to find the sweet spot. 20 GPD is a little too much, i try not to exceed 10 GPD mark.

The Kratom "grey market" is like the Wild West... you're buying a natural, organic, green powder in a bag. How do you know any certain vendor, is NOT selling bags full of garbage and monkey poop? There are over 200 vendors online.

First, you DO sanitize your powder before eating... right? NO ?? :o Then I suggest you google: H. Pylori -- a bacteria which may cause "indigestion pain and nausea", in fact burn a hole in your gut and make you seriously ill. Here's a Link read up. H. Pylori is a known pathogen, about 2/3 of the world's population has this in developing countries. https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/yellowbook ... ter-pylori

Yes, TFH sells high quality kratom! I do trust that vendor's Lab Testing and sourcing. :geek: But... I still pour boiling water over all my powder. Out of habit - that's just the smart way to consume raw kratom. Most people don't do that? Well... most people are ignorant, you know? Its your body. Most Americans eat bad diets full of sugar and junk food.

Nausea may be an effect of certain kratom alkaloids in high enough dose, so could be strain & vendor related. But indigestion, cramps, belly pain, excessive gas, etc. are more likely an effect of just swallowing indigestible plant matter. It's about like eating so much sawdust.

I found making filtered tea to be far easier on my gut than swallowing powder. May be worth a try. There are a variety of tea-making recipes to be found here, varying in the degree of effort required. I've found a simple and quick one - shaking the kratom with boiling water and lemon juice in a thermos, letting it sit half an hour, then filtering through a coffee filter - works just fine.

You make a lot of sense.

I did get tested for h. Pylori, and was negative.

I would still truly appreciate more deats on how you boil your kratom. Do you boil up a kettle worth and store in fridge?

Currently I use hot tap water in a small cup to dissolve 3g at a time.

I use the Red Bubble Method, aka "3 Step Prep" to prep my powder... Heat, Acid, Freeze.

Weigh powder. Right now I'm doing 2+ days worth so around 10 grams... :geek:. dump that into a dry coffee cup. Boil some water. Take pan off the heat. You can count to ten, from boiling 210º ...cools down to around 190º - pour over your powder, and stir. Cover the cup and steep. All bacteria, salmonella, pylori, is destroyed at 180º sitting for 5 minutes!

I'm using pure Citric Acid powder, less than 1/8 Tsp for my ten grams kratom. Others use a squirt of pure Lemon juice... or ACV :P the Citric acid is cheap, and works better to make a Red Bubble when freezing. I just pop my coffee cup in the freezer, overnight, after its cooled down of course

Now you've got sanitized, liquid, kratom in the fridge... 2 days' worth. Search = Red Bubble here, google that, search on Reddit, or Facebook. It's the modern way to enjoy kratom. Makes it more bioavailable... hits stronger and faster. Make nice cold drinks, Kratom Tea, w/ squirt of MiO Tangerine flavor. Or crystal light.

For someone who is doing BIG servings, say 20 gpd ?? They could still, sanitize and prep their powder. Just use a bigger coffee cup! :D

About a year ago I had a period where I got a brutal stomach ache no matter the dose size, vendor, strain, preparation etc. even boiling, freezing thawing and settling to avoid plant matter didn’t help, nor did tums or pepto.

I was legitimately thinking I would have to drop it altogether after about three weeks without getting better, but decided to try a run of omemprazole (e.g. Prilosec). I’d never had acid reflux or stomach type issues like this before but a 7 day cycle solved it and I’ve not had issues since then.

There seems to be some reasonable sounding info you’ll run across that suggests the plant matter plus the opioid-like slowed digestion can trigger a situation where your gut goes too strong on stomach acid to handle the plant matter.

Who knows if this is in fact what’s occurring, but the omeprazole worked great and cost about $8 using a generic store brand otc.

I am touched that you took the time to write all that down, in order to help me out, just wow!

I will definitely do more research the Red Bubble method.

Thank you!

Oh yes, that's something I've learned with time. I'm on a omeprazole and almost daily stool softener.

There have been times where I tried a new vendor and experienced a stomach ache, absolutely. This was back when I was trying whatever brand I came across that had a good deal. Ever since I became a bit more discerning and followed the lead of experienced recommendations online I stopped encountering that problem. In my opinion, some stuff is just lower quality and less pure but I'm really just guessing. I've never had an upset stomach from quality vendors. Whether something else is going on, I couldn't say. If TFH isn't giving any negative reactions then I'd guess it was the fault of the other leaf. I'm sorry though, if it's something physiological then I don't know.

I don't think I've ever had nausea from kratom but I take famotidine 2x/day for the exacerbation of my GERD from it.

I can relate as I’ve got the lap-band and no gallbladder. I have had bad leaf in the past with the same symptoms but now that I’ve been on this board and off Reddit, I’ve been sticking to buying from one or two vendors only and learning which strain works for me. Plus the vendor I bought the ick leaf from has disappeared. 🤨

My dosage is nowhere near yours as I’m dosing once a day maybe 2 to 4 g, for pain relief using oblates.

Thank you to all that took the time to reply. I believe I might have finally gotten to the bottom of this mystery (maybe!).

It was super clear that whenever I had TFH (I alternate with all strain colors) no stomach pain. However when I ran out and used other kratom, say from vendors like Botanical Bunny, a few days in and stomach pain would return.

I now believe that its due to the fact that TFH does not use fermented leaf for the red strain. I think the fermentation is too hard on my system. Again, this is all really speculation. What are your thoughts on that?

TFH might just be the 'cleanest' kratom ever, the first few times I had some it was slow to hit and because it didn't upset my stomache at all, like 0%, it seemed kind of 'weak'. I for sure believe that some kratom is -cleaner- than others, even without the fermenting part. That said, other vendors have "stronger" kratom, so it's a trade off in the end.
