I emailed 2 vendors (Benni & Mit Man) but they can’t make specific recommendations.

I would have two orders bc I am getting some for my daddy, who a Vietnam Vet and started needing pain pills about a year ago. I need something for pain for him but it can’t be too much of a stimulant bc of his heart. He also smokes weed. I was on pain pills for many years after a head on collision but have been clean for about 3 yrs. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss the euphoria but not to the point of taking pills bc I do t want that monkey on my back again. I want some that mostly mimics opiates/euphoria. That warm rush of well being. I have been using whole herbs Bali red vein and apparently I have a high tolerance so I need that fire stuff. Lol

Can you help recommend? Thanks in advance!

Just wanted to add that opiates gave me energy. I was never drowsy from them.

My suggestion for you is to just dive in with an order from MitraMan (I love them, many others do too), or any other of the vendors that are consistently listed here, and sprinkle your investment over a handful of different options to: (1) understand the quality levels that you will find with these vendors and dial in your dosing - you may find that you do not in fact have a high tolerance but rather had some inferior leaf; (2) understand generally how the vendors classify the different colors (all having to do with effect, no such thing as vein color etc); and (3) while sampling the wares, spend time reviewing Gumbyke behind the scenes post and some of Ballz’ primers on dosing and tolerance and really whatever else catches your interest.

No vendor is going to be able to respond to pointed questions about treating a condition because it opens up risk to them. This community and the boards are your greatest resource.

Just start diving in - you won’t go wrong with the vendors that are consistently listed here and reviewed. Might keep the whites and frankly all others away from your grandpa until you’ve tried. You’ll be best suited to gauge and communicate your views on them once you’ve tried.

I like both of the vendors you mentioned, but Mitra Man is definitely one of my go to’s this past year. I have not tried everything they offer, but close so I am pretty confident in saying you likely cannot go wrong if you randomly selected from the current menu. So really to just mirror what Greyhound said just dive in.

Newb question... when they say fast, mid or slow, I assume that means how quick you feel effects?

Reds will tend more to relaxation, greens to daytime energy + euphoria, whites for focused energy.

variations of the theme as someone told me once:

White for flight, red for bed, green in between. I don’t totally agree with that across the board but tends to be true enough.

Or

Red = slow
Green = mid spec
White = fast (ie speedy)

IMO yellows and golds are in betweens usually.

That is referring to the speediness/energy of the particular batch.

67.99 for 15 oz worth of capsules ! for $89 you could get a 10 way split kilo from Benni's with 100 grams of 10 different batches . Just get a mix of red, whites, and greens and figure out what you like . You could do the same at mitraman for 8 different batches , but you would have to get it in the 500g 4 way splits and it would cost $108 - Personally I'd pay a little more and go that route , but either way you are off to a good start .

Hiya!! I've only been taking kratom for a month now but I take it for pain so I hope my experience can be of help to you. I've seen it said that reds are great for pain relief, so the first thing I ever tried was a red, and it did indeed help with my pain... but so did the greens I tried immediately thereafter, lol. The reds I've tried have been more sedating than the greens though. Whites, from what I hear (haven't used one yet) can be more stimulating, so maybe stick to sample sizes for your dad to see if he reacts well to them before committing to larger bags.

A few vendors have capsules but it's also relatively affordable to get a capsule-filler and empty caps on amazon, which you can then fill with whatever powder from whatever vendor you like. But capsules also take a bit longer to hit than regular ol' toss-n-wash.

For me reds don't do much but they are relaxing and help with pain. Greens give me energy and then whites give me a mood boost and energy. I like to mix whites and greens for a nice mood and energy.
