The general rule is that if you're feeling nauseous, you're taking too much. Try lowering your dose a little.

Yes; along the lines of what Santbusushin wrote, if I get nauseous it’s a sign that I’ve taken too much. It used to happen when I was new to Kratom and just “eyeing up” my doses with a teaspoon (and also just taking too much, which I’ve probably done with every substance I’ve ever tried and liked until I grew up a little bit…..I’m 60 y/o now; still getting there) ;)

After I bought a scale and really started paying attention to my doses (something that MM really got me started on), I literally never go above my general “sweet spot” (around 1.7-2.2g) and also wait at least 6 hours in between doses, preferably longer. If I ignore either of those rules even by a small amount, I get some degree of nausea or just feel knocked out, and not in a good way.

Different vendors have made me either more or less nauseous. As others have said, amount taken effects this as well. Keep some ginger ale on deck.

I get side effects sometimes, if I take a dose more than once a day I will start getting itchy. :D

I have gotten real nausea a couple times when i've taken too much. I got my doctor to prescribe me a big fat script for Zofran. Docs don't usually have an issue giving out zofran. Good to have around in my opinion and not just for kratom.

Nausea is one thing... Stomach cramps, Gastritis, or Stomach Ulcer caused by bacteria in Kratom... is another!! :o

Many of us NEVER eat raw kratom powder!! :geek: Always Prep your Powder with boiled water to disinfect... but some people don't care? :|

Hmm. I wish more people were talking about the concerns of potential bacteria issues with consuming powder/plant material before cleaning. My problem is the amount of preparation time in all the "tea" recipes I have seen. I am more of an on-the-spot kratom user, not a scheduled same time every day thing.

Do you take your kratom on a full stomach or empty?

Take antihistamines. All opioids cause nausea and histamine release which can leave you feeling sick and itchy. 25mg of benadryl will work great for kratom induced nausea, ginger is also another natural alternative.

If lowering your dose doesn't help the nausea (or the nausea goes away but the dose is low enough that you're not getting the desired effects), AND you're sure it's not a bacterial issue like the ones Ballz described... then I'd second the ginger advice. Ginger comes in capsules, but you might want to also try it fresh if you can, put a slice in your water or tea. It helps with nausea and tastes pretty good imo. Strong mint can also help; get a tin or two of altoids and chomp on 'em when you start to feel ill. Helps me out with carsickness and anxiety-induced nausea a lot.

Ondansetron (Zofran, mentioned upthread) is indeed great for nausea and generally good to have around the house if you or anyone else in the household has trouble with that kind of thing. Low side effect profile, effective, and docs generally aren't adverse to prescribing it, though they might want to explore the cause of said nausea before giving it out.
