My experience with surgery and kratom

Had knee surgery a week ago - thank you to all who gave me advice a few months back around how to prepare for it amd use kratom after. Used tea (no powder) and hirsuta for four days beforehand (For three days before that I did a dose of tea, one of hirsuta and one of powder), then nothing for 24 hours before. Anasthesia went great. I managed the pain with the dr prescribed opiods and Tylenol the first night and then switched to Kratom. Doubled my doses of Kratom the next day. Then felt good and went back to my normal 1.3g though I am took it every 4 hrs rather than every 6 or so for several days following. Back to my normal 1.3 grams 3x per day. I am grateful for this plant!

Good for you.

You don't say which kind of surgery but, as always, DO the rehab. For my knee replacement I was back on the court in six weeks and had full mobility a few weeks prior to that (and at my advanced age, it shocked my PT folks). But I did the rehab three times a day even at home and stressed myself and pushed myself even more than the PT guys. Just do what they say and it will be fine (two years later I'm killing all the folks I play against - of course, I pick my opponents carefully).

Thank you! It was a knee scope with a good amount of meniscus clean up and chondroplasty. Much less than a replacement though that is in my distant future (had a traumatic injury to my right knee playing soccer and those surgeries are starting to show their impact now). Agree on the PT! I was off crutches after day two and saw the PT on
Day four. Things are going well!

Awesome! Kratom has gotten me through a couple surgeries, myself, but neither were for a joint; I flinched just reading about your knee injury. PT is rough but you have this little leaf to help you at least. Wishing you well in your recovery.

Just to add - I suffered a Heart Attack on Kratom - 3 years ago (year before COVID,) and called 9-1-1 and found myself in the Ambulance literally begging for that shot of Fent. AND - I had done my regular Kratom dose that morning!! - For me, it was a burning sensation that got more & more painful and... When they flipped on the Siren I know I was in trouble.

Made it to the "Cath Lab" Operating Room. :o. They'd given me the Fent, everything was spinning & next thing I knew they were around me, pulling off my boots, strapping me down... I went black. Then it seemed like, I woke up just a few minutes later ? A Doctor was saying something. It was several HOURS later... they were all done! Angioplasty. They went IN through my wrist (Not my groin, thankfully,), He explained that my major LAD artery had been 99% blocked... yes I survived The Widowmaker 8-)

I had major Kratom withdrawals that night in hospital, begged them for any opioid and I "think" they gave me a Tramadol, so I could finally sleep... Anyway. I'm posting this HERE, to let people know - Kratom did NOT interfere, even with major Cardiac Catheterization surgery!! I spent a couple nights in hospital - Not very comfortable. But upon returning HOME, next day I was back on my Lowest Effective Dose kratom and... After 3-day Break... felt fine!!

Good for you, Ballz - and I'm so thankful you survived.

It's a good story for all for many reasons.
