Reading Chris (tfh) say strains are fake and he 100% make sense….
Why is it that I can blind pick a red almost 100% of the time? Only “strain” that would trick me is lucky Krakatoa, it’s a green but I thought red

Not sure what your getting at here. Are you contesting what he's saying? Or agreeing with it?
It makes sense to me. There is not a white, green, and red kratom tree. "Strains" are nothing more than labels used to identify a batch that someone has. For instance if you try Red Bali, from 3 different vendors, there all incredibly unlikely to be from the same harvest, batch, region. But they all call it the same thing?!?

The Indos use stupid and sometimes misleading strain (or variety) names. So what? We're stuck with it. Use their names as batch identifiers and move on.

The different batches have to be called something, and something catchy / easy to remember / desirable to purchase.
New batch from IndelibleDotInk can be 'Trade winds, a Hawaiian Breeze' or '231ADHDiohio7.'
It would be a good revolution to get away from green, red, white, but they do provide some general information to the purchaser. It would be so sweet, though, to stop the 'vein' aspect.

I strongly believe all 3 colors should be used, most whites gave me more upper/stimulant over greens, and greens are clean smooth energy and sometimes uplifting. Most reds relax me. Thats how we identify by using color names, red-relax green-energy and white - stimulant perfect to get out the house and do some shopping or something. Sure i had reds that felt like greens, i think there is a lot of shenanigans with all the names changes and mistakes happen. From what i remember, greens are indoor dried. Reds are outdoor dried and whites are a mix of both, perhaps thats why it stands out better. Unless there something else done to whites like i heard it is dried longer then greens and reds. If anyone knows 100% how its done can chime in... Oh and yellows inside plastic bags? I think if everyonce used the word Batch over Strain, there would be less confusion. As we all already know same tree will give 3 different effects depends how you dry the leaf and not the vein color strain crap that we all fell to believe. I also think regions could play a big roll and how old the tree is. More soil, or tree's in water? Lots of rain or less? how much sunshine it gets and how long the leaf itself was on the tree. young planted tree's produce weak product, mature tree's strong product.

yes, the colors help give us an idea of effect, and that's good, or as good as it can get for now. No big rant opposed to colors.

yeah this is a good way to put it. the actual color of the vein, or whether there is such a biological thing as a white or green vein, is unimportant. I think some people are getting caught up in the term "vein." it's semantics.IndelibleDotInk wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 3:24 am The different batches have to be called something, and something catchy / easy to remember / desirable to purchase.

but we do need to have some way of differentiating between batches. and there does seem to be both stimulating and sedating types. what they're actually named is also unimportant, as it pertains to the effects of the kratom. I wouldn't mind something else besides the color system, but it does seem to be easy to remember that way, or maybe it's just too ingrained in my head now.
you're right, whether we called a strain "green bali" or some random collection of ones and zeroes, people should see the name for what it is - an indicator of what the leaf might be like, as a sales tactic...whether that's actually helpful or not I don't know.
I think some of the wacky names coming out now are gimmicky, especially with the "custom blends." I'm all for trying new things, but it seems like some vendors are risking being seen as trying to appeal to minors, like the way there is a push to ban flavored vapes and tobacco.

Re: Reading Chris (tfh) say strains are fake and he 100% make sense….
It's really subjective as to how anyone "grades" any leaf. I've had leaf that was considered fast but it
sedated TF outta me and I've had leaf that was considered slow by a lot of folks but I found it to be
a great 'get things done' kinda leaf. Some Reds feel like Greens to me and some Greens and Whites
hit my like a Red is supposed to hit. Lucky's Krakatoa is an odd critter. It hits me one time with sedation
but another time I get a mid spec feel from it! I believe it's the only leaf I've bought this year due to
having such a massive stash. I only grabbed it cuz folks on here were thrilled with it....glad I did cuz
it's excellent leaf!
