Post by Rockcrete88 »

Hi all,

I haven’t ordered from Texas Family Harvest in a bit. Does anyone have any recommendations from the current menu?

Thanks!

This is not true. All their kratom is high quality. But when it comes to the individual, some of it hits incredibly well, some of it is very good and some not so much. It all depends on personal chemistry. But telling someone which strains you personally like gives them something to go on. I don't think telling them everything is a winner is helpful.

Having said that, it's also good if the person searching let's people know what kind of effect they are looking for. Do you want energy or relaxation? Are you seeking pain relief? Do you usually use greens, reds, whites, other? If you're having trouble sleeping and someone tells you the best strain they've ever had - which happened to help them clean the entire garage over the weekend - you might not be happy when you take it.

Oh Hippie… it may be the best keep secret on the menu (or was 😄.)

It’s mid spec with absolutely fantastic mood-lift and feels. I had to get 500g of this one (seems like that’s what I’m getting for most TFH strains lately.)

You need this one in your life. Trust me. Not that you probably need any extra enticing, haha!

I think the Baik Bali Especial is what was Red 460 in testing last year that I got rather a lot of.

I might be placing an order as we speak. This is exactly what I'm in the market for. Mid-spec and mood +

THANK YOU!

For me they are all good. I have probably 10 different strains from several different batches ranging from old to new. They all hit. Some are different than others but I have not had a "bad" strain or one that didnt hit. This was my point. You are right, we are all different and you didnt specify what you are looking for. You just asked for recommendations. Best way to find this out is going to the home page on here and search TFH and you should gather enough info to make a good decision. My faves on the current menu are: 30yr wild jade hulu. Master crafted red. Afterburner bali. Rimbun rimba kali. Wild red samarinda. Just a few. Take care !!

Thanks for this post. I’m about to order a split kilo 4 ways and need some suggestions. I used to be a regular TFH orderer but since I’ve moved to a not so open state, I’ve been confined to smoke shop kratom on the border. I’ve figured out the post office situation and am getting a kilo this week finally 👍🏻

The whites all look enticing, and the greens too. I need some mid upper fast ones. Mood boosters too! I’m not a fan of the sedating kratoms unless it’s bedtime

All of the TFH whites on the menu are excellent. I have all of them along with some not on the menu. For the Green, I have the Wild Crafted Green Horn, Wild premium Green Bali, Green Forest Borneo and the 30 year wild Jade Hulu are all so good. Master Crafted Red is a good one too. You will love everything you get from Texas Family Harvest along with excellent customer service.

Ha! I was already eyeing the 30yr jade hulu, master crafted red (for menstrual pains/leg pain I have), and then the afterburner Bali. I’m a big maeng da fan so the top shelf maeng das are looking nice too. Also I was curious about the white lightning. My god, I need them all!! Lol. I could get a 4 way split kilo and then a couple 100g bags of extra ones I want. Maybe the blonde Borneo or the gold hulu, and alllllllllll of the whites toooooo 😏

He had a green hangat suma and jade hulu ssv a year ago or so that was one of my favorites, I made red bubble tea a lot with it and it always hit. Same with the classic white maeng da, white Samarinda and white kampung. Damn I forgot how many consistent hitters I’ve had from them. I’m a wordy tonight

I finally about 2 weeks ago used the last of my White Kampung. It was a sad day because I loved it so. The White Lightning is good but you can't go wrong with any of the TFH whites. I check the menu everyday for a new white to appear because I have them all and I'm always looking for a new white from them to add to my vast collection  I have to add that the TFH Green Horn and Wild Green Premium Bali are both really good but they only have 100 gr. bags of that left.

I knew you’d like it! It’s really, really good. One of my favorite strains right now. I also always worry about ordering more than 250g of a strain I haven’t tried, but figure I can always sell on the TP if it doesn’t work for me.

Still makes it that much sweeter when it hits 😄

I gotta order this one.

Did you mention in a message TFH had a top shelf Green Muna? I haven't seen it on the menu yet (hope I didn't miss that one too). I was trying to wait for menu updates with new strains added before ordering but I may have to get this Old School Green Bali NMIR-2 right away! Sounds amazing

And the Baik Bali Red Especial: I-KUN11 has really grown on me. I now like it better than the original!! Great daytime red

When something makes the menu at TFH it’s quality! Out of the stuff I tested and ordered, only 2 batches made the menu out of the 6 I ordered bags of. Love the rigorous vetting they do!

You seem to be describing whites.

As a rule when something is called a "red" (as opposed to just LOOKING red) it's because it has sedative effects in addition to the pain relievers. Sometimes it has more pain relieving and isn't sedative at all, but I've NEVER heard of a red called "energetic". Never. That's a white description if I've ever heard one.

And there ARE whites which have pain relieving qualities (but are also, as most white are, energetic). I suspect that's what you are looking for.

The other alternative is to mix them - take a great energetic white with some red (I like to do this 30 minutes afterwards, as it "turbocharges" the initial dose).

For TFH whites the Afterburner is a great one right now. Rinbun Rimba is also very good.

There ARE some energetic day reds. Why seek sedation during the day, that's why they're called day reds and I'm hoping that's what Master Crafted Red is cuz I got a lot of it based on the comments here! I've had many strains labeled red that are energizing in that you wouldn't think they're a red if you assume all reds must have some sedation. Combining red and white is good suggestion but many say they can't handle whites because they get jittery or anxiety, I think they need to try different whites.

Kelly, You really need to get your hands on some of TFH's Rocket Red and Red Ryder Riau! 2 classic Energetic Reds from a while ago. Hopefully new of these show up again on the menu.

But - given what we know (which is to say, TFH - perhaps not alone but certainly admits to it - labels their batches regardless of the "color" of the powder (or apparently even the processing of it). That's why, during testing, they ask the testers to say what kind of color they would categorize it as. And that's why they may well switch up a "green" to a "red" if enough folks think that's what it is.

To me if I were testing something and it was "energizing" I would NOT categorize it as a red. Or, to put it another way, what do you folks THINK is a red?

You take something (you don't know what it is) and it provides you with a ton of energy. Do you meant to tell me you wouldn't say that was a "white"? If so, you folks are on a completely different page than I am (and perhaps subject to some delusions into thinking that a "color" is really a difference and not subjective).

If you read thousands of messages and forums and things on the internet it's clear that MOST folks lump "reds" into nighttime uses, and for a good reason. They also say they provide more pain relief and are "soothing" - exactly the opposite of how they describe a white. In a blind test I doubt whether any of you could do any better.

In the past, I found Great Bali of Fire to be a good day red. Does anyone have any insight on Great Bali of Fire v.2?

Also, I see Red Sumatra Select V2 on the menu. Is this daytime-esque?

I am getting myself a birthday present and along with the Red 707, I am considering one of these two strains as a potential daytime red.

Also, if the Red Embolism Forest (I am sorry, I forgot and am on so many antibiotics right now that I'm not right in the tummy or head, aka it must be the fever talking)

I'd love you forever if someone has experience with the Great Bali of Fire 2, the Red Sumatra Select 2, or the Red Embolism Forest and can say if one is daytime friendly. Otherwise, I'm getting my old bff, Top Shelf Red MD.

And I would get a green actually if I had the bux for a larger order, so this is a slim indulgence for me and I'm aiming for a more 'awake' red--in the past, Great Bali of Fire worked well with me during the day, so any feedback on one you'd suggest--it would help! I want to order on Nov. 9th so any suggestions, again, I heart you!
